It should also be noted that Atlantic has been releasing these too on clear vinyl. I have the Phases and Stages (didn’t see here) and the Ray Charles debut album. Willie sounds great, just cleaned the Charles.

this has been a rumor for like 10 years. i don't see it happening. there are clear versions of some zeppelin coming out i believe but they are just likely the same plates.
if chad does zeppelin, he's not gonna do them for anything less than the $150+ 45 UHQRs. i'd be legit shocked if he does.

i got the wilson pickett clear version and it sucked IMO. think it was some generic cut.
VMP is doing Phases next year and I'd bet almost anything it will sound better than the generic releases Atlantic is doing. Weird they are doing so many titles in multiple releases for this series.

Re chad’s Atlantic boondoggle, 45rpm for most of these is ridiculous, particularly the one I’d want most (Yes - Close to the Edge) bc they have to split the title track. Fuck that.
The bummer is I’d love to hear but not own many of these for the experience of hearing how good they might sound, but I’m no longer buying 45rpm releases with the very rare exception of the Coltrane Love Supreme UHQR (it helped to get 10% off from In Groove’s Labor Day sale). Close to the Edge as a title would be in similar rare-exception territory for me, but not with a split song.
