Stooges is gonna be the alternate mix (not up on it enough to know if the Bowie mix or the other mix is considered the "alt" mix). But Storf mentioned awhile ago that they will be doing an alternate mix in this track and safe to assume it's that one.

Looks like my six month sub will cover the first five months of this track, so I'll be definitely in for SOAD, and maybe Stooges depending on what the other tracks have to offer that month.

Any indication if this is a swappable track, or like the Dolly one?

Should be swappable as it’s a new full track.

Awesome, definitely helps me internally justify the six month sub I told myself I wouldn't do.

Can someone explain why that's the STP album they went with? I liked their stuff - I mean, not a super fan or anything, but I enjoyed their first bunch of albums - but this one seemed like it came out on their decline. Would anyone even put this in top 3 STP albums? (I am a fan of Sour Girl though)

It's the iggy mix. Bowie is the "official" mix

I'd call it top 4 stp. Which isn't a slight: core, purple and tiny music are just really  really good. They feel apart after this record but this one is still solid. It's the last of the records with Weiland. Also all the others have had recent reissues for anniversaries and Walmart issues.

As @yukbon said, the others all have well reviewed recent reissues. don’t think this STP has a good sounding recent reissue but I’m not a huge fan of theirs so someone else may know better than me

Yeah, I can see why they'd do the Iggy mix. That one has a much more modern sound (albeit with all the downsides of 90s mastering choices) - I can see people who haven't heard the Bowie mix before just thinking VMP gave them a shitty pressing - the Bowie is pretty thin sounding, especially compared to modern stuff.

For those wondering, that ad and another leak let the cat out of the bag early for this track, so there’s still a lot of details we don’t know. Should be an official announcement with all the info by next Friday, however.

Based on VMP's past attempts to at least make it seem like they focus on diversity, I'm a little surprised that they're kicking off this track with all American white guy bands. Considering that's been a common criticism of Rolling Stone and others as a blind spot when promoting rock music.

Storf has hinted that he's trying for Moby Grape for the track in the future

Well...you have a Lebanese/Armenian/Turkish frontman in there....that's diversity.......riiiight?

Weiland was on self titled and shangri lanafter this also.

4 is a good record. I bet this trumps the MOV that is currently available.

To each their own but I’m jumping on the STP when it’s available.

Fucking hell. Lame! Albums everyone has, or that can be got cheaper or that are fucking Sublime 🤢

Also! Hi! There’s rock outside of the fucking states.

I don’t think that it could be possible to derive a worse start to a rock track.
