Pre-Order Thread

A couple of interesting, (semi) obscure jazz pre-orders. This is one of my favourite UK jazz bands currently but outside the London scene. Their first 4 albums are all wonderful.

And Quinn Kirchner has made two of my AOTY - this is a side project of his. I enjoyed Vol 1

And another EABS side project from Poland (I'm guessing this is more electronic than jazz)

Love Mammal Hands. Glad to see they are back.

One day I should really try to dig into these guys. People seem to love them and they are technically local these days.

here's main goat john darnielle specifically discussing durham NC's musical heritage and then dropping my favorite version of "let me bathe in demonic light" in a NC train station

Hope no-one minds a bit of self-promotion but pre-orders have just gone up on Bandcamp for the new Spare Snare LP - the bands 12th overall, second recorded with Steve Albini and, most excitingly, first with me on bass!

Will he available from various other places too. Not sure on US situation but Rough Trade and Newbury did carry copies of the last album.

Very cool!

Despite the awful cover, the James Brandon Lewis will be getting lots of time from me this year. Probably the most interesting listen so far this year.
He's so impressive. He's got another couple of records at least coming out this year (a quartet and a quintet one), plus he's been in the studio recently with the Messthetics (Fugazi bassist and drummer plus guitarist) who are on this record so there could be even more. On top of that, he's a nice guy too. Hope this album lifts his profile even more.

Did you get to interact with Steve at all or was it a mostly virtual thing? I’ve enjoyed following him on twitter.
