Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I've done two months in a row of swap for credit, thinking I'd get Fiona. Now I'm just wondering if I should wait a couple of weeks to see if there's any sort of Black Friday deal...I wonder if it's close to selling out of if they pressed a shit ton of them?
There will be some kind of holiday sale. No guarantee this would be part of a sale though…in fact I’d be surprised if it is on holiday sale

I was like "oh cool!" for a second, then I thought...I might as well just spend $40 on something I want. I doubt I'd get more out of Tidal than I do out of my current streaming subscription, and I guarantee all the records that are options are less than $40 for members and will be discounted at some point in November.
Here is the list of albums included in the deal:

Extraordinary Machine getting ripped up on Discogs , people saying the Plain sounds better? Lol....mine arrived today.

I was one of the few that wasn't impressed at all with When The Pawn
incredibly anecdotal because I haven't owned the Plain or the original issue in several years, but I got rid of both of those fairly immediately after acquisition because they sounded like garbage.

I spun my VMP Extraordinary Machine yesterday and the first thing I thought to myself was "this doesn't sound like garbage like I remember the other two doing so."

That being said, it's nothing special. My copy was flat and didn't have any pressing fuckery so it sounded...fine? The price point is high, but everything VMP puts out is. To my ears, it's a solid, if unspectacular, but easier to acquire version of an album that's largely been hard to get for 17 years.

I have the Plain pressing and I’m a certified VMP hater, but there’s no question that this new EM presssing is far superior to the Plain version. It’s just not going to blow your mind (in terms of sound quality) like VMP’s Tidal did. It’s very much in line with VMP’s pressing of When the Pawn.

I did this a couple weeks ago to grab the Muddy album that had been on my want list for a while and I was curious to check out Tidal. Can't say I'm much more impressed with it than Apple, and not really for the extra cost, but I've got a new digital toy on it's way so I'll reevaluate when that shows up.

Tidal/Qobuz sound better on my main system than Apple Music does. But I still use Apple Music in the car because I'm just a creature of habit and all my playlists and things are on there!

That’s probably because airplay is just a shitshow that downsamples the hi res to CD quality. I’m betting that a computer sending the actual hi res over USB would leave very little between the services.

yep--probably right. I just use Roon at home so no apple music through that.

Yeah I have my phone connected to my car by usb and I’ve been really impressed with the lossless and hi res on Apple Music. AirPlay being shit does keep tempting me to Tidal for in the house but then Tidal being shit on CarPlay keeps putting me off….

And as per usual - complaints on a certain dumpster fire of a website are being shot down by cheers of "My copy sounds fine on my crossley". And around and around we go (you still can't say that they fucked up on Wu).

I was just on that thread. That entire subreddit and the usual VMP simp behavior never ceases to disappoint. I'll never understand how anyone can dismiss so many legit concerns over several pressings, especially over that quarter where ATLiens, Wu, etc had obvious known issues. You got a good copy? Great!! But to just downvote and dismiss the very clear legitimate issues that others have is just knuckle dragger behavior.

Mine arrived, massive 3 inch seam split across the top because some unit at VMP decided that keeping the shitty 2xLP widespine in the thin ass reverse board jacket spelled "quality".

Emailing them, I'm so sick of getting records damaged in these bullshit mailers at.aprox $40 a piece

I saw this bundle come up on VMP's twitter again and you know what....? It's bothering me more than I thought it would.

None of these actually fall under the definition of a supergroup. Wu would ONLY if they all released solo work beforehand.
“They’re super. And they’re a group.” - VMP probably
