Needles & Grooves Fantasy Hockey League

Habs fan talk: I'm seriously afraid they'll blow their 6 point + 2 game in hand cushion on Calgary and fail to make the playoffs. They are that bad and the injury to Gallagher really hurts. Price is not the problem since he's not playing. It's highlighting how bad the defense is. Weber is especially absolutely awful. Not sure what happened to that guy, but the drop-off was precipitous. Bergevin's moves in the last month or so have made things worse so far - maybe the two defensive guys will help, but only if they insert them without removing Romanov because he's the only one playing with heart out there on D. Staal is slooooow and more or less useless - so many goals against when he's on (though he finally did score yesterday). And finally, the coaching change seems to also have made things worse... can we put Julien back in there? He's still under contract as far as I know. Has this ever happened?

Anyway... we're fickle as fans and I'm feeling pretty down on them. Maybe they make me change my mind within a few days.
I don't think that's going to happen.

Yeah, I know I know... you can get irrational when your team plays like shit. But if they lose those 3 games in Calgary this week..... it's going to get scary. And the way they're playing, I wouldn't be surprised. I think they win just 1 and it gets really tough for Calgary. The wildcard is the game in hand they're playing against Edmonton tomorrow.

They'll be fine, don't worry about it.

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will be out of the lineup for a week while going through concussion protocol, head coach Dominique Ducharme said Tuesday.

Edmonton Oilers forward Alex Chiasson bumped into Price during the first period of Monday's game, and Jake Allen replaced the Canadiens starter to begin the second period. Ducharme confirmed postgame that Price's injury occurred on the play in question.

Montreal is scheduled to play four times before next Tuesday. The Canadiens will play a road contest against the Oilers on Wednesday before facing the Flames in Calgary on Friday, Saturday, and Monday to wrap up a five-game trip.

Chiasson wasn't penalized for Monday's incident.

Price was in his second game back after missing six due to a lower-body injury. The 33-year-old has a .901 save percentage through 25 games this season while also posting minus-5.63 goals saved above average and minus-8.11 goals saved above expected in 2021, according to Evolving Hockey.
