Pre-Order Thread

There were rumours back during this release that Kevin actually wasn't satisfied with this mastering and was planning another release to be done on 45rpm (potentially 2LP?). Anyway I regretted not getting it then and I jumped on this right away this time I saw it available at the indie stores.

@Joe Mac you may have noticed some UK stores dropping VAT on EU orders. Also for you I'm guessing?

Nearly all of them! That’s because we’re supposed to pay our own VAT and customs fees on arrival as they’re no longer in the customs union. I’ve found so far that all the couriers (DPD, UPS, DHL, FedEx etc.) have been really on the ball and charged that plus their admin fee. Generally if it’s gone Royal Mail then An Post they haven’t. I’m guessing that’s a COVID parcel volume/staffing issue because they used to be right on the ball for that before 2020!

If you’re looking for them they’re still for sale at my local. They’re usually pretty fair with shipping and pack like tanks but I don’t know if transatlantic shipping plus their list takes it out of what you want to spend. The AAA are €30.99 and the standard €26.99.

Damn looks like Loveless AAA is sold out on the MBV site

Fuck! And on SOV UK 🇬🇧 too!!

This seems to now be hitting the local stores in UK, so same thing likely in US in coming hours, right? I'd prefer to purchase from my stateside local, but I don't want to miss out.
I've seen nothing that leads me to believe US sellers will have these. Especially since Domino Mart won't ship to the US. I'd grab one where you can!

...it will sound like hot garbage on my turntable.
I ended up with 2 copies of Phoebe on vinyl. I got the Blue/Silver and the TTL one (I only have 2 because my buddy wanted a copy so I'm gonna give him one of those since I just got the TTL one on a restock). They both actually sound pretty good to me. I'll have to compare it to the high res streaming but I remember being prepared for the worst based on what everybody has said and mine sounded good. It seems like the TTL has diff deadwax info than the Blue/Silver or VMP but wonder if it's just a GZ issue with some of the earlier copies?

Yea...thought it was weird that Bleep and Domino won't ship them to the US. Thought at first maybe they just weren't officially announced in the US or something but it seems like a territory issue now. I grabbed the bundle from Sound of Vinyl.

Looks like Loveless DLX Edition is sold out!

I also agree...the cost of records have become stupid lately. Glad to see mbv not altering the price on these too much...

From what I recall it's the same price they were listed for before on their website. the shipping is still 14€ to Germany and would have been about 40€ back then.

I bought loveless deluxe for 30€ shipped from Norman. I honestly didn't expect that they would go through all that trouble with the remaster and then not release as many copies as possible of this thing.
The Loveless + Isn't Anything bundle price was $42, so I'd say it's definitely gone up, but understandably, some people over here who only wanted one of the two balked at the $20 shipping which almost doubled the cost. For me that made it a no brainer to just get both.

I really hope that it does come to the US so more people can get it, but I would be worried because that expectation is exactly what burned people last time. It being available from other retailers than just the mbv store is promising though. I believe last time it was never available anywhere else.

Im convinced that the issue with mine is definitely mastering. I can’t imagine how pressing could make it sound like it was being played down a distorted phone line. Digital is much louder, more dynamic and less distorted.

I could be wrong but I don't see the deluxe Loveless on there.

^^This.

It’s also only an hour into the business day on the east, so depending on who’s handling distro (if it’s in the US at all) we might see US retailers hitting this morning. I mean, I wasn’t taking chances this time, but fingers crossed that’s how I can get my Loveless upgraded.

Well, I'm glad that I was able to order these mbv deluxe edition vinyl records, but I bought them separately when a bundle was available for less, ha ha.

I contacted the cs about this and hope they can adjust the charge, but we'll see.
