Yeah, Crumb deserved more attention than it was getting at first. Glad we got it to sell out. Shame we're not getting it on time, but such is life.

I love Miles Davis a lot and buy pretty much whatever comes out, but... As much as I love his 70s dark and chaotic trio of Dark Magus, Agharta and Pangea, I am less fond of the comeback 80s era, which strikes my ear as too smooth, with the exception of the Hot Spot soundtrack. Not a big fan of posthumous LPs where 90% of the music was laid down many years later on top of bare demos.

I think regardless of the forum or any other kind of FOMO enablers, their brand is strong enough (actually, I mean their member count is high enough), that they will always be able to sell the first 300 copies of any exclusive pretty quickly.

Almost any exclusive that they have done in that amount goes pretty fast. I guess a large portion of people just think, I'll buy it and it's a small enough number that if I don't like it I should be able to sell and get my money back (or more) pretty quickly.

Maybe. I don't think that's entirely accurate, though. The Boogarins, Feels, Lafawndah, Middle Kids, and Hatchie albums are still there and those were runs of 300. Blanck Mass has passed the same window that Crumb sold out within, but time will tell on that, I guess. Grace Lightman is also still in stock. The overwhelming majority of everything else they still have, as far as store exclusives, are pressings of only 500, which still seems pretty low. I feel that FOMO/hype surrounding a release even feeds into the idea of whether you could resell it or not, if you don't like it.

The forum numbers were enough to push a lot of them over the top, especially where you had a thread reminding you of titles, discussing them, and asking for inventory counts, along with winks keeping people from buying variants elewhere. Has a single exclusive sold out since the forum was erased? It seems like the ones I remember hearing about are still there, but I don't know.

True didn't realize those were also small runs. I haven't been following around so closely, and really if that's the case they really fucked up by shutting down the forum. But we already know that :)

Evanescence is tied with Trans-Siberian Orchestra for my co-worker's favorite band. One thing that I can say with certainty is more painful than listening to Evanescence is hearing a tinny Amy Lee bleeding out of someone else's headphones, constantly.
