Boston Bruins forward Charlie Coyle has been added to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list and will miss Wednesday’s game against the Washington Capitals, according to Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press.

I actually had a claim that I cancelled because it would have just created more logjam with my forwards this week, and not with the ones I would have wanted to sit....

The Pittsburgh Penguins activated captain Sidney Crosby from the COVID-19 list, the club announced Thursday.

Crosby was placed in the protocol Tuesday and subsequently missed that night's 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. It's unconfirmed if he'll be in the lineup Thursday when Pittsburgh plays Philadelphia again.

The 33-year-old is tied for the team lead in goals (seven), assists (11), and points (19) through 20 games.


Assistant coach Todd Reirden, who was placed in the protocol Tuesday as well, is also cleared to return Thursday.
