Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Probably won't sound significantly better than the other recent Sony Legacy reissues, but you get fancy tip-on jacket and white vinyl, and foil stamped. If you want premium SQ get a clean 70s pressing or the expensive MOFI.

My original Pittman press sounds great. It was mastered from the original analog tapes because, well, that's what they did then!

Still quite expensive to get any of the RTI pressings shipped to the UK, so the VMP might be worthwhile. I doubt I would spend £150 on a One Step for this (or many other albums tbh)

edit - not sure about the mastering though. the one you listed is Sterling sound. This is Vic Anesini ( I think he's known for his digital work), and 'sourced from the original master'

I'm assuming it's not AAA, as it's not stated as AAA in the listing, but in the description it says, 'Remastered from original masters and pressed at RTI'. I might be a bit simple, but why wouldn't you issue a AAA record, if you've gone to the trouble of doing a new remaster from the original tapes?

edit (again) - just ordered an unplayed copy of the RSD RTI STERLING AAA version with no sleeve for £7 inc. shipping. Now I'm tempted to get the VMP version just to compare (all this to distract me from doing some work 😬)

..another edit - What is going on with these pre-orders, it doesn't get issued until mid May. I suppose I can order it now & have 5 months to give it a proper listen again & decide if I want to cancel

There may very well have had to have a digital step to clean up the tape, correct any speed, flutter, or other imperfections. Just depends.
 
The Janis Joplin exclusive is pretty cool, but I’ve got the 2xLP 45RPM MoFi pressing which sounds amazing, so I won’t be picking up this VMP exclusive! Pressing details for this VMP exclusive do sound great though! ✅👍

I’m still obsessed with the Donna Summer exclusive though! VMP really started off with a 💥💥💥 for their first big exclusive of 2021!!!

I missed the mofi & don't want to step up to the one step. But no hesitation on the Donna Summer, easy decision.

Just listening to Bill Withers Greatest on MoFi, makes me think all I should buy is MoFi

I ordered the Donna Summer within seconds. Great record!

I pass on Pearl. I am not crazy about the record. Kozmic Blues IMO is her masterpiece and I have the most excellent SC.
 
Anybody gotten January their shipping notices yet? Theoretically along with my ROTM, I should be getting Khruangbin LNT, Thelonious Monk, All Things Blue, and a couple of the unnumbered overstocks.

I fully expect maybe ONE of these things to actually be included, with the rest being delayed for three or for different reasons.
