Jazz

@Selaws - don't know if this one interests you too but America Records has reissued Noah Howard's Space Dimension through a small boutique press out of Italy. Very limited (250), very nice sounding presentation. I just grabbed one from Juno, HHV has it too. Despite being limited, I have noticed some of these stick around to HHV sales in the past due to the high prices. This one goes for a boatload though in OG so not sure if this will stick around.

Let's do this:

Following Treasures released today at Sounds of the Universe, Soul Jazz are reissuing Lloyd McNeill’s Elegia on the 21st of June.

Piccadilly look to be cheapest at the moment. It’s limited to 1k but should be fairly widely available.

Im supposed to be attending a Soul & Jazz festival on Sunday here in London. I've been looking forward to it for months, so of course it has to rain heavily a couple days before in typical English form :cautious:

The line up is fantastic and theres even a record fair on site. I bought super early bird tickets when it was first announced (£20 a ticket) and ended up winning a competition to get upgraded to VIP (although im not entirely sure what that gets me). I went past Herne Hill on the train into work this morning and saw them setting it up, I was expecting a small stage but they were putting up there huge tents and stages so it looks to be a lot bigger than I anticipated. Heres the line-up:

So my fellow jazzbos if I had an in to the London jazz scene would there be interest in an AMA or possibly a series of them with the current crop of artists? @Skalap has started a thread asking about AMAs in the club section, but thought I'd bring it up here. Is this something you'd be into, is it worth pursuing??

100% be into this, and I think there would be quite a few musicians open to the idea.

Nubya Garcia.
Cassie Kinoshi.
Sheila Maurice-Grey.
Oscar Jerome.
Shabaka Hutchings.
Theon Cross.
Tom Skinner.
Shirley Tetteh.
Rosie Turton.
Joe Armon-Jones.
Nick Walters.
Edward Cawthorne (Tenderlonious)
...ect

That's nuts and I like it a lot.

I don't have enough money to follow you all, I already burnt my budget for June...

And I still have a few records to grab at my favorite local record stores Balades Sonores and Superfly AND I have to visit Heartbeat too as they received a haul of records from Japan...

Oh yeah, June was done for me a couple of days ago.
