Pre-Order Thread

Based on this tune hopefully it's a return to his more folkier roots. A lot of his more recent output has been more uptempo and "rock-y" which I don't think he does that well. By default you kind of have to cover Billie Holliday slower and gentler so I'm optimistic.

One of my favourite things about this forum is when you guys all get excited about musician or band I've never heard of. I love how diverse and passionate this group of folks is about music. Makes me all warm inside.
Frazier is the shit...plays drums on Durand Jones but his voice is killer...real 40s/50s vibe

Counterpoint: I've vowed to only buy records that I'm really really excited to spin. I cut out the fat, and I can afford to pay "flipper-ish" prices and still save money. You all make that really really difficult, but I shall remain strong.

I do the same thing. I usually listen to what everyone gets hyped on, but it's incredibly rare that I end up buying it. I try to only buy albums I want to listen to. I have no plans on flipping anything (regardless of how much they appreciate in value) I just think it's cool that some times our tastes overlap, and some times I'm an outlier. As much as I listen to and try to keep up with current bands and artists, there's still so much out there that I've never even heard of.

Old bluegrass session stuff of his, for anyone similarly confused.
Oh yeah! Sorry, I meant I get the concept, it's the recording when you call the phone number itself that is impossible to understand. I catch a couple of words here and there, but mostly it's just a wall of noise.

Edit: and wait, this is "old" sessions, or new bluegrass sessions reworking old stuff? I thought it was the latter.
