Everything Video Games!

Spiderman was really fun. I gotta get Horizon Zero Dawn. I did a lot of time on AC and Last of Us 2 then work got real busy so haven't been able to play much lately. Fall Guys is super fun too on PS4.
I just finished Zero Dawn yesterday and I liked it so much its the main reason ill grab a PS5, because I have to play the sequel now. Its a much shorter game, I think i beat everything (dlc included) in around 60ish hours. I think a buddy of mine and I are having a game trade this weekend where I'll get AC and the new God of War. I keep hearing how fun Fall Guys is.

There's a lot to do in the game and I had a lot of time to waste. The pandemic is doing wonders for my back catalog, I've beat Witcher 3, Spiderman PS4, Horizon Zero Dawn (complete versions of all 3 and i highly recommend all 3) and of course put a ton of hours into Animal Crossing. Its rare that I have this much time for video games.
Finally jumping into the Spider-Man DLC myself after a long hiatus. So far, so good!

Never got around to finishing Horizon (one of the many hefty, critically acclaimed games in my backlog), but I'm hoping to go back in the coming months since I'll be sitting out the new consoles for a while.

me, an Xbox user hearing about really good games exclusive for PS that I can't play

Fall Guys is just real silly, fun, and sometimes really frustrating (and free if you have PS+). It's also fun to play with friends online.

Galaxy 2 is amazing. And Odyssey was incredible too. I never played the first galaxy though so excited to play that and Sunshine and replay 64.
Yeah I had a wii given to me very late in the generation and got 2 and loved it, but never went back and bought a lot of the good games on it for some reason.

i... wanted mario 64 in actual HD graphics 😔

but w.e., sunshine and galaxy on switch is good since i haven’t played those.
Funny to see the juxtaposition between the THPS1+2 ground up remakes for $40 vs straight ports of these three for $60. Switch tax.

Of course I bought both...

yea, it's even weirder in that this mario 3-d collection is like a port with a little bit of remastering/enhancing to it too. i guess it makes sense that updating the textures for 64 isn't as easy and quick as for sunshine and galaxy (and 3-d world too). and people who grew up with the original as opposed to the NDS version (like me) would be furious if the 64 game was changed in any way for this port.

The other thing that sucks is that you can't just say "well fine, I'll just go buy the originals." If you don't own them already, they are all going for $20+ on ebay currently. Not sure about Galaxy, but the other two don't seem to have gone up since the announcement

Has anyone played the THPS 1+2 remake yet?

I hate paying full price for a game but $40 is not that bad. I’ve got a long weekend in front of me with no plans so grinding out hours on THPS sounds like fun.
Yup, it's great. Blast from the past. Also thought this tweet I saw this morning was hilarious, although I haven't messed with the park editor yet.

Edit:hmm may have been deleted let me see if I can find it.

There's a video of it at the top of this article:

Bought earlier today and it's downloaded and ready to go. Looking forward to playing it this weekend, hopefully some multiplayer with a friend who had the original games.

Time for a games update. Rather than start any of my backlog after beating Yooka Laylee, I started Hollow Knight again, this time on Xbox (played on PC and beat on Switch). Controls are much better with the Xbox One controller and I remember more of where to go than I thought. Game Pass mobile starts on the 15th, looking forward to utilizing that, especially since they keep adding games I want to play.

I'm sort of winding down in Animal Crossing. Everything's paid, my island's 5 stars, now it's just doing some little daily things. I'm working on collecting all the K.K. slider songs, I think I'm around halfway there.

Still playing Binding of Isaac on and off, no wins with The Keeper yet and a 20 or so death streak. I had an awesome Mom's Knife build going, but hit what I call "the one room" because no matter what I always seem to hit one room just about every run that just destroys my health. This time it was a double Polycephalus room that squeaked in a shot in as I killed the second one. I was 3 rooms from Mom's heart.

Also continuing to make steady progress on Dark Souls. I did some grinding this week with the forest guardians before fighting Sif. That fight felt wrong overall, especially the part where it starts limping. I almost let it take me instead, but I finished the fight. Made my way through Sen's Fortress and utterly destroyed the Iron Golem. I foolishly tried to block during the start of the first fight, and got pushed of the edge. Came back second fight and found a simple strategy that led to me taking no damage in round 2. Basically, I hung back until it was in the middle of the area, and then locked on and ran straight at it. It would do the big sweeping attack as I ran under, and the camera would flip at the same time, allowing me to get easy attacks on the back. Rinse and repeat. Started going through Anor Londo, but got sucked into the painting world. I just got the last bit of the area to go I think, and it will be back to Anor Londo for more fun!
