Pre-Order Thread

Another new batch of PIAPTK stuff, including a 10" Floating Action release with music Seth submitted for consideration to include in the Bill & Ted 3 soundtrack:

Ummmmm

Well, crap. A couple days ago we sent out an email about a new release that contained unused tracks recorded specifically for a soundtrack. And, as a joke, we mentioned that you should tag the music supervisor for that soundtrack... and well, somebody might have taken us seriously, and within four hours, we got slapped with a big ol' Cease and Desist. So... uh, not only were we not supposed to bother the music supervisor, but we weren't supposed to use the name of the film, discuss the "creative brief", etc etc. So we have scrubbed everything.

This is our bad. We thought it was funny and nobody would care because we are so tiny and silly, but, well people do care, and now that they've explained it to me, I get it. BAD IDEA.

WHATEVER YOU DO... DO NOT PUT THIS (now non-existent) RELEASE ON DISCOGS or mention it to anyone. THIS RELEASE DOES NOT, DID NOT, AND WILL NEVER EVER EXIST!!!!!

For the handful of you that bought this ill-fated release before we took it down a couple hours later, we hope that you trust us, because we are sending you something else that you will hopefully like as much. If you don't wanna gamble on it, email me and I'll make sure you are taken care of. peopleinapositiontoknowshop@yahoo.com

However, this new release ALSO does not, and will not ever exist, so just keep it to yourself with the secret knowledge that you will be one of the few people that own this new thing, and that it is even more limited than a lot of the EARLY PIAPTK releases. But, whatever you do, just pretend this never happened. Do not post about it on social media, do not put it on Discogs, let it just be our little secret. We don't really want this new release to get out either, but for different reasons. But you will dig it. there is no copyright, trademark, or intellectual property infringement involved.

These things are important not only for legal reasons for everyone involved, but also (and probably especially), so that Seth doesn't get blackballed from the licensing process (because this is literally the only profitable area of the music industry in 2020).

We really thought this whole thing would be funny (and still kinda do), but there are also serious elements that are NOT funny. Maybe down the road we can all feel good about feeling like it was funny. But not now. This is NOT funny, even though it WAS.

Is this a mixtape or something?
its mostly a remix album but as the track list shows there's some original songs on it as well.

edit: nvm, they edited the tracklist down to 14 tracks, there were originally 19 tracks listed when it first went up that included original songs, I'm assuming that's the digital tracklist and the vinyl will just be the remixes, which is kind of a bummer. but still looking forward to it!

Anyone know what the 2XLP version is? Assuming it’s an audiophile pressing? Doesn’t seem to have extras
On Norman Records it stated that it was part of the "Daydream Library Series".

The Daydream Library Series of records and tapes is the independent house label of Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) and Eva Prinz's publishing imprint Ecstatic Peace Library. The Daydream Series was established in 2018 to provide a label for emerging musicians, both local and international. In this series curated by Eva Prinz, Thurston Moore, and Abby Banks, a limited-edition number of vinyl or cassette albums will be released in a pristine "collector's edition" package with the highest quality recordings, impeccable design and will include handmade fanzines with the album's liner notes, interviews with the bands. The first year of releases will offer genre-crossing music including opera, classical, punk rock, and sound-healing. Each album in The Daydream Library Series will include a limited-edition fanzine edited by Eva and Thurston with the musicians.

That Ghostly Green appears to be an indie exclusive
I think it said indie exclusive on their site, so that makes sense! So it seems just the red + green splatter is exclusive to their site, which considering last I checked there were less than 30 copies available that will be the one the flippers flock to, I'm sure.

I think they restocked some, because there was a lot more than 30 a minute ago. Over 800, I think

How many flips can a flock of flippers flip?

So I wake up to discover in the 5.5 hours I got of sleep in my 70+ hour Essential work week, I've missed the 100 gecs repress window. While learning of this having just woken up at 5:30, I turned on my stove for breakfast, distracted by my hungry cat that a plastic container lid was still on my skillet.

So when i truly learned all copies of gecs had sold out in the middle of the night, I discover my skillet is now covered my skillet is covered in melted plastic, I take it onto the back deck and bang it onto the railing in frustration to which then the handle breaks off in my hand, of which I yeet into the side of my garage as hard as I can.

The flock of flippers got your back, though.
