Political Discussion

What's that person's facebook image? An eagle with some sort of shield? Just wondering what that symbolizes. It might be nothing but eagles and shields have a pretty sketchy history particularly if it's German or Polish related.

Also, when they attacked Obama for being a muslim and when they attack whomever comes after Trump please point out what a hypocrite they are. It won't do any good... but it will really rub them the wrong way to know just how correct you are.
It's an Italian crest, that being said, there is no winning or making any sense, so I really don't know why I bother any more. Actually, I don't think I'm gonna bother on FB anymore, its just a means to an end.

........apparently this is the "defense". 🤪

The other day another "Friend" posted this long drawn out "copy/paste" about protesters loosing their rights once they started looting. To which I commented, "you know there is a difference between protesters and looters". To which she got really mad about, me "correcting" her, to the point of telling me that if we still want to be friends I better stop it.........AND, that I was splitting hairs.

Just shoot me know, lol

“In 2016 Bush said that he was voting for Trump because he was the only thing standing between America and socialism... Well, I think the only thing standing between America and socialism is an inability to meaningfully reform capitalism and it’s more damaging effects. And if we can’t do that, than the people take to the streets.

Reform, [the type] that Bernie and others talk about, I think that will save capitalism. That will save democracy by showing that we recognize the collateral damage caused by the systems that we use to gain wealth and power. And we can reform those systems meaningfully for the people who suffer most terribly under them than we can save capitalism. But if we don’t, than the people will eventually storm Bastille”.

I'm with you. I've been done with Facebook for years now but kept my account open. not sure what compelled me to check it about a month or two ago but ever since I have been sucked into the crazy that so many people, some who had been very close friends, on my friend's list are posting on FB on a daily basis. now most of these people I hadn't spoken to in a few years but the transformation in their politics over that time is staggering (though maybe they'd say the same thing about me). it's really disheartening to see how many of them believe the most ludicrous things regarding politics and science... like just the other day a friend of mine and I got into a heated debate over masks and he kept trying to tell me that there was no scientific backing regarding the value of masks in slowing down the spread of Covid but rather it's all fear mongering to divide the country (as if Covid is only an issue in the US). I just ended up leaving the conversation angry and sad that he has gone so far off the rails since we last spoke. he used to be way more liberal than me and now he's a Trumpaholic.

I guess that's why I left Facebook a while ago in the first place, but still my compulsion to see what crazy ass shit these people believe keeps me opening the app and scrolling through piles and piles of complete nonsense.

Both of Trumps appointees voted for the law along with one other conservative judge. Let's hope Trump does not get to pick any more judges.

The supreme court declined to take up a case this morning on Trumps border wall waivers. All waivers are allowed to stay in place to speed up building the wall at the expense of wildlife.

JFC. Does he believe this strongly enough to drive to Mr Floyd's family's house and try to convince them of this as well?
You have to give it to her, her evidence is just overwhelming.
She also claims that Waynel Sexton, Floyd's second-grade teacher who was recently interviewed on Houston television, is merely a "crisis actor" who may not really exist. "Citizen investigators have pointed out that the name Wayne Sexton is short for 'Anynel Sex' or 'Anal Sex' if you remove and replace some letters," Heartstrong wrote in her document.

On the other hand, Winnie HeartstRONG is probably just short for wrong

St. Louis couple pulls firearms on protesters cutting through their private street

2A nuts should be absolutely clowning on these dorks for obviously having no idea how to operate their firearms. Trigger discipline is like the first thing that lady should have learned and dude is holding the buttstock unsupported and configuring a right handed weapon in a left handed stance. If he shot it like that a hot piece of brass would fly up in his face.

I read an option piece this morning about how the biggest campaign really for Trump would be another Supreme Court pick by November.

A third Supreme Court pick could be what get's Trump's base and Republicans rallied up and be the biggest and deciding campaign issue this year.

They know tides are shifting, and the younger generation is more progressive and starting to enter politics. And republicans and the older generations want to secure their future and what they know. A third pick to the Supreme Court will give it a clear conservative majority for at least the net generation.

And a conservative majority can keep the conservative hold on politics and challenge any progressive advancement. They will also be able to undo progressive changes of the past 50 years. One key issue they are looking to overturn is Roe v. Wade.

There is a major push by the older generations to protect their ways and views. They don't want universal healthcare, regulations on capitalism, LGBTQ rights or public programs. They have theirs and they don't want to help others.
