Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Teeeee - I want to preface this post by noting that I love you to death and dearly miss being in JQBX with you (dang technology issues!) and this might also be in response to some personal life stuff happening atm so apologies in advance if this comes off poorly. I mean no harm, truly. <3

But this is the 3rd or 4th post about the N&G AOTM in the last 2 pages. It's getting off-topic and frankly a little spammy at this point. I know you and others rightfully have your feelings against VMP, but some still use VMP AND pay attention to N&G AOTM separately. Heck, there are 3 topics about it pinned to the top of this forum - it's hard to miss! I know you mean well and are just trying to spread the word of the awesome thing y'all have started, and I think there's a place for it, but I don't think it's necessarily in this thread. I don't see any advertising for it in the other vinyl club topics, so I don't think it should be here either.
Mods - feel free to delete my spam.

But please leave all the sandwich posts.

Mark de Clive Lowe - Heritage 1
Lou Reed - The Blue Mask
Khemmis - Hunted
Nicole Atkins - Goodnight, Rhonda Lee
Camaron de la Isla - La Leyenda del Tiempo
Ruen Brothers - All my Shades of Blue
The Gloaming - 3
Clarence Clarity - No Now
Ibeyi - Ash

Anyone know what albums those are?

ESSENTIAL AF <3

I love your enthusiasm when it comes to our group in our corner of the internet! You are amazing!

I would hope you picked the band you are named after.

Not really named after. My name starts with a C and I've almost physically died or metaphorically died a number of times. I also love the Grateful Dead. I do like The Dead C, though and there's even a Michael Morely interview on my website. Sharon Van Etten set it up when she was a publicist for Ba Da Bing.

I can’t believe VMP are pressing T-Pain’s “Epiphany”!!! Get it before you regret it!

This album has so many crunk, R&B slow jams! ”Bartender” and “Buy U A Drank” are classic bump-n-grand, smooth, luscious, tipsy hits that still sound great today! I love the straight-forward, yet hypnotic, dreamy, effortless, watery sound of Bartender and the drowsy, finger-snapping, swirling, woozy sound of Buy U A Drank!

“Tipsy”, “69” & “Yo Stomach” are R&B feel-good, sensual tracks that all have a minimal, clean yet echoing-domino effect sound/production behind them. I think T-Pain’s autotune vocals paired with this kind of production with the lyrical content being unapologetically sexual creates a dizzying effect. Super innovative!

And then you just have some sweaty, romping booty-shaking bangers that pack so much punch and flavour to them! The clapping, frantic, juggling “Church” sounds like a song that would play at a twerk and crunk dance-off and “Backseat Action” is an earthquake inducing, marching, stomping banger that features electro, tangy, reverberating production!

I love the song “Put It Down” too! The slow-motion, echoing synths with the minimal trap drums create a mellow, sobering. almost culpable sound that really matches T-Pain’s reflective and remorseful tone!

T-Pain’s “Epiphany” has such a unique Crunk, R&B sound to it! It’s one of the best R&B/Hip-Hop albums of the mid-late 2000’s in my opinion. I highly recommend grabbing the exclusive! 👌

Could pick one off of cogs for $16 right now
Shipping to Canada sucks tho. The cheapest shipping for this release is 17 cad which makes a secondhand copy go for about $29 USD with shipping. Still better than the $34USD they are asking as just a plain store offering but still would be better to get it as an addon swap.

Also, I want to recommend Jennifer Lopez’ “On The 6” for those of you who are thinking about grabbing that exclusive. It features some incredible singles on there which alone is worth the purchase in my opinion!

“If You Had My Love” is one of the best songs of 1999 in my opinion. It is a restrained, neat, tightly produced song that had a suave undertone to it. Lopez’ really stretches out her vocals on the song and it, paired with the production, creates a compelling yet spellbinding sound!

“Lets Get Loud”, one of the many Latin flavoured tracks on the album, is just a high-energy, fiery, victorious, red-hot, in your face track that really benefits from the passionate choir sounding vocals. It’s an aggressively sexy salsa song that’s so lively and present, it takes over you!

Waiting For Tonight is the centrepiece though! It is such a euro-mediterranean flavoured club banger that never ages! It has a pulsating, anxious, aesthetic to it, and really encapsulates that “wanting to get with someone for the night so badly”! I love the gentle, soothing guitar strokes and the percussive rhythm of the track! It’s just a magical song!

I also really like a lot of the latin-flscoired romantic, sultry, lustful tracks on here. “Open Off My Love” is the best one from the bunch, a tropical, playful, mysterious song that features an incredibly sexy, irresistibly catchy saxophone loop in the chorus. The Piano keys are chirpy and compliment the trumpet jabs played during the verses. And Jennifer Lopez cool and calm vocals only increase the raw sex appeal the song has!

The breezy yet bouncy, sunshine, carefree/spirited “Feelin So Good” is also such a jam!

If you want to get a Jennifer Lopez exclusives, definitely go for “On The 6”, it’s easily the better album! 💎
