Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I can’t believe VMP actually is asking for records back. Aside from the legality, I would be offended of how they value a customer’s time.

I would respond by saying “I’m not your employee. I will not box up 20 records on my own time, and make it to the post office using my gas, to stand in line during the busiest shipping season, during business hours when I normally make money. You can fuck right off.

It looks like the estimated market value for these records appears to be about $65 dollars each. Given that I do now legally own these records, VMP is welcome to purchase 24 copies for $1560 + actual shipping cost. Oh, and I only ship once a month, so they will ship by the end of the year, unless of course they’d like to pay an additional $5 per record for expedited shipping. So for a cool $1680 + shipping they can have them all in the mail by Wednesday.”

I gotta agree with you here, not to mention, I, as VMP would never post on Reddit to a customer regarding this matter, especially if the response was actually "Just send them back". Go fucking find out who you sent the extras too and email them, privately, and then MAYBE try and work something out. I hope the guy that got the extra records and who was basically hung out to dry by VMP on the Reddit cancels their sub followed by a strongly worded email..........these guys haven't a clue, it's beyond believable.

You’d need to make sure each record has warps and/or seam splits before they’re mailed back.

We are aware that they fucked up (regarding Mobb Deep) twice but I feel like that there is a likely possibility that it happened more than twice and that even if the two redditors who came forward and return the albums is perfect condition, there could likely be others that aren’t as forthcoming, meaning either some customers are not getting their copy or they will have to repress more. Based on the Weyes Blood shit show the latter seem like a more likely proposition.

@NathanRicaud , dude, this isn't at all aimed at you my friend, please understand that............it's all about VMP.

Definitely, I like Nathan the vast majority of the time, he’s fun and his positivity is a nice change for someone as cynical as me. I think the way he excuses spending money on things that are way below acceptable kind of leaves him a bit open with things like this though. Nathan, raise your standards, you deserve better, we all do.

I once received someone else's VMP Blue Note Anthology shipment. I got mine earlier in the week so this was definitely a mistake that was sent to me. That was back when these episodes went out every couple of weeks. I immediately emailed support to let them know because it didn't feel right to hold onto someone else's records. That's bad karma. VMP sent me a label and I gladly sent it back. Took all of 5 minutes to print it, put the record back in the box, tape it up and set it out for the postal worker to pick up. It's not that hard to box something back up and send it on. It's bullshit, frankly, to keep something that isn't yours.

How would you feel if the record you wanted that sold out was sent on accident to someone else and they kept it, thereby keeping you from getting what you paid for? Yeah, I get it, VMP screwed up big time. But to keep something that isn't yours makes you not only a thief but an asshole. Ask for some credits to compensate you for your time or I don't know, just be a decent person and pay it forward.

I don’t see anyone else coming forward that they got sent too many copies with the way Storf threw those 2 Reddit posters under the bus. They aren’t the problem. Maybe everyone who ordered will get many multiple copies and that’s why it sold out so fast. But I doubt it. It’s not Saddle Creeks fault either.
