Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Mine left NJ yesterday. I'd guess I could get it tomorrow, Monday more likely. I'm in Philly so it's not a long trip! No estimated arrival though.

Have you already looked at all the vinyl inside the box?

I’m so keen to know what the vinyl are in the last episode! I really want to find out which Teena Marie and which Erykah Badu album we get!

I didnt open the episode 2 and 3 packaging yet. Im one of those people thats guilty of not savoring each record especially in box sets so Im going to do my best to keep with the plan. I dont care about spoilers so much but this will help me personally with self control through the experience

I really need to listen to the podcast and get myself in the mood and to understand Motown more! I’m the type that would just open everything and see what it is! I’m happy you have self-control and are fully immersing yourself in the experience! 👍

To be honest, my life is a bit of a mess right now, mentally. (5 different jobs in the past 4 weeks, due to getting fired or being super unhappy there). I don’t have motivation to be clean, do things properly, eating healthy etc. I’m not even caring about cleaning my vinyl before I play them. But I’m starting a new job on Monday at a warehouse I used to work at and I think I’ll be much happier there. And because I’ll be happier, I’ll be motivated to be back to normal and will listen to the Motown Anthology podcast and might actually go episode by episode 🙌

I’ll still open all the episodes just to make sure all vinyl are in good condition so I can ask for a replacement if needed (I’d hate to miss out on a replacement for this box). But yeah, I’m going to do this properly too! 😊

Sorry you're going through a tough time but I hope the Motown box is at least a tiny bit of a pick-me-up!

I'm curious what everyone else thinks: any glaring mistakes on these? They're already trying to do better with the private community although the software they're using is a little weird. it's just kinda dead. I mean, I guess the BN group was dead until the packages actually started to arrive. I'm just worried Motown won't have nearly as much enthusiasm and engagement-- and then VMP is going to blame it on the community forum format and not on just, well, people aren't as insanely into Motown as they are into Blue Note.
 
I find it funny that they killed the old forum, then tried to use FakeBlock as the forum for AMP1 and now are using a different forum software. You would think that just making it an subsection of the old forum that only AMP members could post to would have worked. I am actually interested in the new box even if I didn't buy it.
 
Got mine yesterday. Haven't had a chance to do a deep dive yet but, initial impressions are very, very favorable. Absolutely beautiful. I couldn't wait to open all the "episodes." Just wanted to make sure everything was there and no record, print mix-ups. Waiting on a new needle for my turntable to arrive in the mail so, I can't wait to start spinning these and see how they did with the most important part, the music. In terms of packaging and design, a monumental improvement over the BN box. Will have to see if anyone else reports on mistakes, etc. All positive for me at this point, though.

Any chance you want to DM what was in the box? I'm just curious but I don't want to ruin anyone else's experience.
