Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

What’s the LP60 doing to my records? I’m currently saving up for a MoFi UltraDeck but I’m only about 10% of the way there, so it’ll probably be a while. Is it worth upgrading to a U-Turn on my way there? Might be another year before I can get an UltraDeck.

Now I don’t want to play my records lol
afaik it's barely removed from a crosley

I have an lp60 with this on it

Is this anything good?

It’s probably better than what came with it but you can put third party cartridges that would be much better again on them. I think if I remember right that @Lee Newman said something about being able to run a Grado Prestige on them? EDIT: Ignore I’m an idiot, listen to Lee below 😀

The issue is quite rightly as @folsom_lives points out that you can’t set the tracking force so if it’s too high out of the factory it can cause groove wear and inner groove distortion.

You definitely can’t run a grado on it. I believe the upgrade quoted is the best you can do.

Damn. No bueno. I might have to make a pitstop over at team U-Turn before making the long journey over to UltraDeck territory. Not sure I want to do another year of an LP60 laying siege to my friends.

I was on the same boat with a Crosley suitcase turntable back in ‘11... all the records that I bought during that time frame are... and I cannot emphasize this enough... deeessstttrrroooyyed!
I’ve only kept one of the bunch, and that’s my first record bought at a Hot Topic back in the day.
I quickly made the jump to a vintage turntable, which was the most cost efficient thing to do. It was a kenwood turntable. Then moved to a vintage pioneer. Then moved to a Project DC with an ortofon red. Probably best investment I’ve made yet!

Hey @GritNGlitter its the Rt84? @HiFi Guy may have a few other options in the price point but those are two most popular. I run the orbit with a grado black. The lp60 is one of them fisher price players with a plastic disc in comparison.
LMAO. Damn dude, you just eviscerated my humble little set up 😂😂😂. Thanks for the help btw, I’ll look into the Fluance!

Surely the LP60 won’t have done as much damage to my records right? Is it at the point where I should hold off on listening to records much until I can upgrade?

Also, in full disclosure, my current set up is still hella humble. With the orbit, I am very table heavy... I run a Pluto into a Sony shelf system through a 3.5 mm adapter into budget KLHs with amazon cables and some Seriously hacked out speaker wire (the Sony has some goofy proprietary connected at the receiver)
