Getting surprisingly emotional all of a sudden about my first non-virtual full-band Decemberists show since nearly 20 years ago tonight. Might pass out from excitement before I even get to the venue. Luckily, a responsible adult is coming with me!

Can someone listen to Lord Huron’s “Fool for Love” and then listen to Joseph’s “Fireworks” and tell me whether the chorus is the same or not. Kind of driving me nuts that I can’t listen to one without hearing the other.
summer concert season is here! Hot Chip last night, Dead and Co tomorrow night. Tank & the Bangas, Franz Ferdinand, Pixies, Joseph, and Lord Huron (in Toronto!) on the docket for the rest of this month. Next month brings First Aid Kit and My Morning Jacket. Gregory Alan Isakov in August in Portland/Troutdale! After the past few years, every show feels like a golden opportunity that I can't risk missing out on.

We have now reached Level 5 of the N&G AOTM Guess Thread for May 2023, Vol. 47. 35 songs and 5 clues have been identified based on riddles. We know that the AOTM is by a living band with at least 6 members who utilize vocal harmonies and piano sounds. There are less than 100 copies left of the album for sale on vinyl, so help us solve it before it's sold out!
We have reached Level 3 of the Guess Thread for AOTM, Vol. 47, May 2023. So far, all we know is that the artist/band is still alive and they have multiple singers who harmonize. Not sure who is in charge of this delirious chaos of music, mischief, and mystery, but the riddles seem to lead to songs, and the songs lead to clues, and we're told that the clues lead to the AOTM.
Just watched an old movie and was reminded by the opening studio credits of what a flex it used to be for brands to put their whole URL (including the "www." part) in their commercials. I don't know why it's cracking me up so much now, but it just seems to silly to be like, "yeah, that's right - we have a whole website and everything. We're on the INTERNET. Here's how to find us..."
Did anyone else see Dave Chappelle on SNL last night? I’m still kind of stunned by how smugly anti-Semitic he was. Surprised to hear the audience laughing at such problematic jokes. -
