Doctor Octoroc’s Kickstarter
(First of all, I’m not being paid to bring this up and I’m not getting any kickbacks for this. I’m doing this because I love chiptune and I believe what the creator is doing deserves to be heard.)
Closet Internet Legend and chiptune producer Doctor Octoroc has secured the rights to recreate the 1999 Flaming Lips album The Soft Bulletin in its entirety. As he did last year, he will be using his modified Frankenstein NES to create true analog chiptune goodness. If his project is funded, he will be releasing it on vinyl and available for download. (Among other goodies)
If you missed last year, he put out the Neutral Milk Hotel album ‘In the Airplane Over the Sea’ through kickstarter.
If you have time, give him a listen, and if you can, please chip in to the project. As of this post, he’s at about 25% of his very conservative $10,000 goal. *Vinyl and licensing ain’t cheap!*
