Disappointed in MOFI Ultradeck

So, now my $2500 turntable can be had for $1499. That's more than a little disconcerting.

Not to mention, the platter has always wobbled. And when you power it up, the motor shakes the tonearm mightily.

You can't tell me that motor is well isolated. Or that vibration magically stops.

I guess this is a 1499 turntable after all. Thanks for the sucker punch MOFI.

Oh, so I figured I'd try to sell it (what's it worth now 2 years old? 350 bucks?) I reach out to MOFI to see if I can get a replacement factory shipping box.

Nope. They're all out. I'm guessing the rush to dump these tables is on.

Ask me if I'm interested in the 5k MOFI turntable. Just wait on that-- they'll drop that to 3k soon, I am sure.

I hear what you are saying OP. The price drop on the Ultradecks is a little disconcerting. I got mine as an open box for $2500 w/ a MasterTracker in January of this year so I felt the sting when that same setup dropped in price by $500 brand new a couple of months later. That said, despite a few challenges getting the deck setup it's been a solid performer and sounds really good. If I get a solid 5+ years of use out of it I won't regret the purchase.

I'm sorry you're having such buyers remorse, but I've had mine since the first year they came out and I haven't had any of the issues you are experiencing. Mine has been rock solid through 2 moves, and all I've had to do is replace one belt and add some grease every 18-ish months.

If you're still in the return period, just return it.

I'll also add that this is the true value in demoing in person. If you love something in person and see that it's working properly, you're less likely to be concerned about price drops because it is a piece you knew you'd be happy with long term.
