Has anyone here listened to the Technics SU R-1000 integrated ? Although I almost exclusively listen to records, I’m not an “analog purist” so the tech this brings to the table is very intriguing.
This thing is insane it’s as obvious a difference as going from a MM to MC cartridge. Halfway into the first track of “feats don’t fail me now” the album I’ve spun the most over the last couple months and it was obvious.
I haven’t purchased a new “main” television since my lg plasma in 2009, but I have contemplated and most of my research led me to believe Sony is the way to go, others make quality sets but you have to be more discerning over models because of either quality control or low value propositions.
I never realized until I got The Rolling Stones mono box, but unfortunately in my opinion, their recordings are pretty mediocre in terms of sonic quality.

I agree with both of you, however there’s labels where most of if not their entire original output was on inferior pvc I.e. chess/checker/argo, Tamla/motown/gordy, Atlantic, early Columbia, black jazz, mercury/emarcy, etc.
I ultrasonically clean records but when it comes to older records almost none are pressed well and even when you find clean copies they still have pressing flaws. Plus with so many records my vg+ copy was $15 but for me to get a NM copy on demand it’s $50-$100.

This is is exactly the kind of feedback I was seeking, thank you. As far as the digital situation I don’t think it will bother me, my dream setup at this point would include that Technics integrated that digitizes everything.
