I have one of these as well and love it. Someone mentioned that the mat can stick to the records when lifting it off the platter, but I've found if you flip the mat to have the suede side up, there is never any issue of static or the mat coming off the platter with the record. Definitely better...

Yep, that's it. I got mine used, so they were already put together. I'm sure they aren't that hard to assemble. There are a ton of people here that use them, I'm sure.

They're the IKEA Kallax 2x2 shelves, I believe. I got them used from a friend. No issues with bowing.

Kris, I like the pool noodle idea. Gives a rounded edge for the albums to nudge up against. I had a similar idea. I used 3/4" square dowels painted black and glued into the back of the Kallax shelf and used 3/4" insulation strips adhered to the dowels.
