I actually tried NOS RCA 5751s, and EH 12AT7. They do work for the gain, but the sound was not as good as the 12AX7 Mullard or the new JJs I recently installed.

🤯 I can’t believe it was that simple!!! Switched to lo-out jacks and what an improvement! I never use the low because the manual says to use hi-out if connecting to an integrated amp. I only played with the dip switches in the back. I guess the gain was the real issue here. not only clicks and...

I appreciate the explanation. The JD9 is indeed very quiet. I know the opamps play a big role, last week I ordered some Burson V5i which are supposedly great in the JD9. I’m going to try the low output jacks, should be about 7-8db less gain. I also have 6db attenuators I could use on the phono...

On my JD9, known for having a lot of gain, I have it set on the MC High using hi-out. Not sure what the exact gain is, maybe 70db? I tried lower gain (MM setting) but I would have to turn the volume on my amp well past the middle to reach decent listening volume, normal volume would have the...

I have an ultrasonic cleaning machine and I also have a Chisto spray that I use with records I haven’t listened to in a while and show a little extra dust. I think I’m doing all the right things to keep my records as clean as possible.

Made some adjustments to my Hana SL Overhang and azimuth were slightly off. I can already tell it sounds better. I guess this one is fussier to set up properly. Imaging and channel separation are excellent. My only complaint is a lot more clicks and pops than I would get from the Mastertracker...

Welcome to the new member ablakey! So I received my new (to me) Hana SL the other day. First reaction was size related... it's tiny! I mounted it using Geodisc, big line on the disc precisely aligned to tonearm pivot with laser. I was surprised to see the cart sitting quite far back on...

So I have a couple of options to purchase the Hana SL, either new or used. Before I pull the trigger I would like to hear the opinion of who has longer experience with the Ultradeck. My previous table had removable headshell, and I swapped cartridges quite often. I'd like to go the MC route...

I have a Jolida JD9, very happy with it but may be the next component to upgrade, after the Hana SL I'm already working on. I'm intrigued by the Sutherlands, although I'd like to stay in the Synthesis Roma (my amp) family. Their phono stage is crazy expensive though.

Sometimes can just be the record. I have a few records that sound like they're in a stone grinder, between songs. Rest of them are dead quiet.

Unfortunately the issue persists. I tried different cables, power cord (not that I thought it made a difference, but at this point...) play records with and withought record weight (tried different ones), with no results. As soon as the record is within a couple of inches from the platter (on or...

I forgot the exact words the guy used, I would say it's an updated/improved Studiodeck.

I was attempting to purchase a Studiodeck a few weeks ago. Audio Advice told me the Mofi is planning to release the new version in September this year. That's why everyone has cleared their stock.

Being Italian I have to correct you :ROFLMAO: if it sticks to the wall it's way overdone, you want them "al dente" ;)

not even touching the table, just touching the record, going in and getting out so it's not even building up during play, it happens also when putting the record on , before it even touches the spindle I use MoFi antistatic sleeves on most of my records as well and I did try a mat, just to see...

the only thing different from that list (apart from opening windows, my system is in the basement, there are none :ROFLMAO:) would probably be "RFI blocking interconnects": I use a short Morrow Audio phono cable to my phono stage. I believe they are not shielded, but was never a problem before...

I have to unfortunately report that my static issue (see previous posts) is not resolved. I got into the habit of lowering the volume all the way down before changing the record, and I guess that was the reason I wasn't hearing the static pops (very faint with volume down). The issue is still...

While enjoying the Mastertracker on the Ultradeck, I would like to go the MC route sooner or later. My JD9 phono stage performs at its best with MCs. Right now I have a Denon DL-110 with low hours and an older DL-103 re-tipped with elliptical stylus (I was thinking to go boron + micro ridge...

It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Love Sardegna! my family has a small apartment and I've been vacationing there for the past 35+ years, also met my wife of 27 years (although she's not from Sardegna) I agree Serie A is not the same as it was, PL is way ahead for money and entertainment level, hard to beat. I come from...
