Swore off buying from UMG stores, but Bob Seger for $11 is worth the hassle, IMO

The Harold and Maude set for $15 is a great deal. The packaging for that one is really great.

    Record Store Day 2024

Like I said, some exceptions, but you'd usually see stuff go up on discogs immediately and sell for 2x what it was listed for. Even for high demand stuff like the Evans mono, the average prices are pretty close to retail.

    Record Store Day 2024

Gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised that for the most part, the "flipping" days of RSD seem to be over. Seems like nothing is fetching more than like $20 over retail on discogs, ebay, etc. Maybe a few exceptions but hopefully RSD returns to something for collectors.

They do a few a year usually. Not sure if there's any specific timing to them but I think there was one in like October?

I had the Fleet Foxes in my hand yesterday and was like “naw it’s too much” and now I have FOMO because I didn’t get it

    J-Jazz (Japanese Jazz)

Nice. I just got the book a couple months ago, if they sold prints or posters that would be neat

    Record Store Day 2024

Fun little aside before I take a nap with my cat for the next ten hours: the dude who is credited as the inventor of RSD was talking to the folks in front of me for a while and was chilling at the store I was at.

    Record Store Day 2024

Prices for most things were insane to be fair. I was tempted by the Rollins box, the Ladytron reissue, some of the jazz detective stuff…but there records I got were $130 and that’s just wild

Yeah my store had lots of FF. Was tempted but I don’t really wanna drop a jillion dollars today

Managed to get my Evans and Lost in Translation. Also snagged the Octopus Project because the packaging looked awesome but might end up not keeping that one,

    Record Store Day 2024

My back hurts too much to stand for an hour. They should make an RSD for people in their twenties and one for the rest of us

44° and pouring rain, got to a Bull Moose an hour before they open, lines about forty deep. Hopefully no jazz heads or lll cry. The real test is going to be not falling asleep as I didn’t have time to make coffee before I left

Their best export is the current manager of Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou, who I'd run through a brick wall for.

Doesn't everything cost too much in Australia? My understanding is that you guys have good coffee, everything wants to kill you, and "cheap" doesn't exist.

    Record Store Day 2024

For normal releases they do but for RSD it's all "Available April 20" until the day of and I think they don't keep active stock updates until the day after RSD

    Record Store Day 2024

No way to check stock but they usually open up online holds later in the day or the day after RSD. I think I should be alright as well but I'm not overly worried. If I can't make it there's a good brunch spot I can go kill time at after so should be a good morning regardless.
