Yep, strange choice to include this here. Hedonism and Weak from the previous two albums were huge hits also in Sweden (and both are bangers!), but this album? Nothing. Kinda boring, which is strange since Skin is a such a great front figure and singer.

While I agree that Abba is a singles-band first and foremost, they actually have a couple of pretty solid albums under their belt. This and the follow-up, ”The Album”, in particular. My favorite is the dark and more serious divorce themed ”The Visitors”. Not a weak track on that one.

It is four thematic albums of her doing acoustic versions of parts of her catalog. It’s good, although not every take is an improvement over the original. But the songs from the debut definitely is.

These songs are more enjoyable when she remade some of them for the close-up project a few years ago, IMO. The songs have more body and character there than on the debut album.
