Just an update: I went ahead and ordered that used VPI Prime Scout from TMR. It should be here Friday or Saturday. And I bought the Darlington MP8B that @spydrwebb44 was selling, which should also be here Saturday. I can't wait!

FWIW, regarding the Pro-Ject balanced TT stuff, my buddy picked up the X2B a few weeks ago and did a bunch of testing back and forth between it and his Orbit. Crazy enough, it was too close to call and the kicker was that the Pro-Ject had a terrible hum/buzz happening that he could figure out...

New (to me) Sonus Faber Lumina Vs arrived today! I've been listening to music now since about 5pm. It's almost 1am now. I'm in heaven. They sound so good! I A/B'd them with my old B&W Matrixs and the added detail and separation, OMG! I'm so happy. I should probably go to sleep at some point...

I really want to keep my budget at a max of $3k for the turntable, phono, and cart. Which is why I'm focused on finding good open box or used options.

I've really not looked at others much. Feel very much out of my element on that front and am very open to suggestions.
