I love heavier stuff. Chelsea Wolff, Marissa Nadler, Sleep, Om, Black Angels, are some of my favorites! Gonna check out Anna Van Hausswolff. You should also check out Thayer Sarrano.

a hot dog is not a sandwich. it's it's own little animal. I only do mint chip ice cream. favorite brand is the Whole Foods 365 brand. don't ever get that Aldean's brand. it is water waste.

welcome to the monkeyhaus! brokedown luck came together the night before I went to ft worth to record. I had that melody sitting around forever and knew I needed one more song that you could dance to on the record. I called my friend and longtime collaborator, Jim Sclavunos in London and asked...

Hey! well that show was definitely one that made me go "wow!' Booker's wife helped me get ready for the show. I'm glad you and your pops had that bonding moment. that's the best. red rocks was a big one. singing at Mavis's bday party at the Apollo this year made me cry with gratitude and awe...

Maybe! In Ocean Grove I love getting ice cream from Day's and walking around the tent houses. Also if you walk along the sidewalk on the lakeside there's some really cool and creepy old run down victorian mansions. in Asbury Park, I love the silver ball pinball museum. also, the most feel good...

I'm pretty sure my wikipedia was written mainly by former bandmates. hahaha! anyways, I think it's tough for anyone trying to make a career in music. Something I've had a shift in perspective of is what defines success. After over 12 years of working, for me success means actually working and...

Thanks so much! My new album is coming out in 2020! I can't share much yet but I'll let you know that my husband says of all my records, it sounds the most like my personality. absolutely bonkers but really colorful and fun. It's muppet soul with a side of Fonzi. I can't wait till you guys hear...

I thought it was really cool! I used to be a part of a vinyl listening club back when I lived in Brooklyn. so I'm honored that my album ended up here. you people are my people. hahah one band that is a constant inspiration that people may find surprising is the Beta Band from Scotland. They...

I always wanted to write my own songs but I had no idea how to start with lyrics so I played cover song shows and played rhythm guitar and sang in other peoples bands. when I graduated college I asked this club in Asbury Park called the Saint if I could do a gig and he said I could so long as I...

gosh Tony, I dunno. I'm numerically dislexic. it's very frustrating. I just go with whatever I hear in my head and if it sounds good, I record it into my phone and then figure out what the chords are. I'm a big fan of time changes within a song tho. not many people do that anymore. the velvet...

Three songs that stick out to me of times where I was immediately inspired to write after hearing them are: The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin, Last Goodbye from Jeff Buckley, and Guided by Voices "Cut Out Witch." Each of those songs when I was young I remember being immediately inspired to make...

I wonder if that's the wurli Spooner played on my record? For Rhonda Lee, I wouldn't change a thing on it. I just remember how much fun I had making it and after I approved the masters, I don't think I've listened to it ever again. I'm really happy with it.

I'm really inspired by the songwriting and arrangements of new bands like the Lemon Twigs, Weyes Blood, and Broncho. Also of the showbiz aspects of David Byrne and the Hives live shows. The more theatrical the better!

I always want the album art to reflect what the album sounds like. for example, "slow Phaser" was more of a desert disco prog record, so the 3 orbs with the eyeballs in the dusky color pallete, reflected what that sound would look like.

Gosh, me and Robert Harrison go way back. Cotton Mather was a hero band of mine at an early stage in my writing. I ended up working for the record label they were on right after they left. Turns out the guy that ran the label was a major creep. I met Robert years after that when I name checked...
