Please forgive my crushing on your deck, but that thing is just gorgeous. Even prettier than the PrecisionDeck.

I think I get it now - just the HT by-pass. I don’t do HT, so the Bryston models may not be the best fit as the decoupling switch is on the rear of the amp.

Off-hand, there are few integrated amps that I know of with an ability to disconnect the power amp section and drive it externally. I have one - the Bryston B100ST, which is discontinued, but it is in your price range as pre-owned. The somewhat newer B135-SST2 also has this feature below $2K...

Phono Cartridges - Your favorites and least favorites?

I love that! Looking forward to trying the 1000LT once the Hana is worn out. Planning to have a shootout between the SAE and the Dynavector for the place on the VPI.

@imajindat - Is the Dynavector 10x5 still your favorite cart? I'm also buying one to retip with a line contact stylus (aluminum cantilever, though).

    Phono pre-amplifier (phonostage) upgrades

Anyone heard the Luxman E-250 yet? I'm a sucker for embedded SUTs since I purchased Bryston phonos. This looks like the type of phono engineering I could recommend at this price point, but I've not heard one yet. Tough competition with the Sutherland 20/20 though...

You are correct. I was just hoping it was a Theory versus another Orbit. 😣 I typically say, "buy what makes you happy", but I also hope that some reasoning is built into the decision. The high-end Orbit is a good turntable, but the Theory is a step above for the investment. Edit: In...

The U-Turn Theory is no joke. Hope he’s happier with it.

    Distortion on CD player

Agree. The repair and shipping could easily cost more than a new changer. And the outboard DAC would still be better. I purchased a newish Integra changer about 3 years ago and I use my Topping D70s DAC with it.

The only thing I’d add is to make sure that the speaker is referenced for beachfront or saltwater resistant applications. Not all outdoor speakers handle salty conditions well.

The Avantgarde Trio G3 speakers have a sensitivity of 109 dB and are said to be “ideal for use with low power amplifiers”. Flea-watt amps can drive these to ear-bleeding levels. The SpaceHorn bass modules do need more grunt and use proprietary 500W Class D amplifiers. That’s less than you’ll...

Phono Cartridges - Your favorites and least favorites?

I pulled the trigger on getting an older 10x5 that needs re-tipping. Will ship to VAS to put a line contact stylus on it. I have not used a HOMC before and I've been curious about this one on the Traveler since I purchased the table. My Hana SL is getting long in the tooth, so this one will...
