Ok, I got mine today. Dexter Cover - check... Wayne Shorter Schiz - check... Random woman's book order - check ...er, what?!? Not over for this poor person. The curse of the anthology extends its reach.

I also have Neal Francis and the Sure Fire Soul Ensemble ordered, which have release dates in September. Colemine seems to have my number.

I'm really digging Ikebe - good funky instrumental soul. I work from home so this is a good album to play in the middle of the day. I like GFO although the genre of "mysterious groove-based psych" is a new style to my collection. I've listened to it 3 times now and it is growing on me. :)...

Paid a visit last weekend to Third Man Records in Detroit and did the tour - picked up this album recorded on the first electrical recording system from 1925 (restored over a decade). It does have a different sound of course (perhaps a bit "tinny"). I'll now need to catch up and watch the PBS...

This thing looks amazing. Mine showed up a few days ago, too, but was warped -- I could fit more than 2 nickels underneath the warped area (gasp!). Customer service was nice and will send a replacement. I will have to see how I can get the warped copy to one of these nice folks who do this...
