Cables - one of the most taboo subjects in audio

Thanks for comments - I ordered the 14 since the existing cables were 16 and 18 gauge. I don't really see any difference with my sensor tests nor hearing much difference - could just be limits of my crappy system and the cables can't help it. Will do more research/testing - thanks again.

Cables - one of the most taboo subjects in audio

Thanks for your comments- note that Kaan's video (linked above) shows that the cable the AC field undetectable by his sensor - this is the whole point of the video. Also, the user manual of my detector says a shieleded cable is not detectable. And, there is no difference in the distance where...

    Third Man Records Vault

Thanks, I think I'm in a similar boat as Selaws - interested, but the price point is a little more than I would pay as a casual interest. The packages always seem to look very nice, I always take a look but haven't pulled the trigger yet on a Vault set.

Cables - one of the most taboo subjects in audio

Hi guys, First, I'm still a bit of a novice to the hi-fi world, so I appreciate all of the advice you share, thanks in advance. I had read through this thread and decided to buy a couple of 2 meter Pangea AC-14SE power cables. One is for a Cambridge Audio CXA80 and another for a subwoofer. I...

Target is my preferred big-box to buy from - trying to help foster competition so Amazon doesn't take over the world (maybe too late?) I went a little crazy and bought as much for the buy 2 get 1 free as I could get for the jazz pre-orders - mostly all of the BN80's and TP's that were...

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

I am in the camp that hates those outer sleeves with resealable flappy thing. It just gets attached to stuff too often and the sleeves rip fairly easily. I've invested in the Sleeve City outers (ultimate?) and am a big fan. :)

Hmmm, maybe I need to read this more carefully, but both MM and BN80 released Art Blakey - Indestructible. So, maybe this is just a general guideline rather than a firm rule? I agree, I would like to buy more of the MM releases/titles but not at those prices even though I've bought several in...

    The Blue Note Thread

I have heard the BN80's have been great. I am looking forward to buying more of these next, just need to do it in a manner my wife does not divorce me (kidding.....I hope). I've got Art Blakey - Indestructible and Grant's First Stand on the way (thanks to whomever puts together the Jazz...

It's funny, all three of local shops are not really carrying much of the BN80's. I ask about them and THEY HAVEN'T HEARD OF THIS, "BN80 what"? It's kind of strange because at least one store carries a LOT of jazz. They seem to have the BN75's but as I've learned here these are NOT the BN's...

I really like Green Street, too. It turns out I really like jazz guitar. Kenny Burrell is also a favorite, e.g https://www.discogs.com/Grant-Green-Green-Street/release/2893051 https://www.discogs.com/Kenny-Burrell-Midnight-Blue/master/178718

    Jazz

Ordered both, just arrived recently, nice copies! In volume 2, Byrd is eating french fries (I forget what you call them in France?) but NOT using mayonaise for dipping. No ketchup either. Maybe playing it neutral? As an American, I enjoy it EITHER WAY. I hope we can still be virtual...

So...this reminds me to start stalking eBay for more jazz listings. I've only been collecting vinyl for a short time - can anyone enlighten me on if MM eventually restocks anything? Like the SRX pressings or any of the high demand stuff? Is it all a mystery or can has there been any anecdotal...

Yeah, these are my kind of people. I'm sold purely on the listing. :) Actually, I'm really digging it based on the small sample. Looking forward to it, thanks sorcerer for sharing.
