I'd like to get my hands on the Gilson "Live" album but from the wax buyers club website it seems the only international (US) option is to subscribe for 4 months. Is there another way to buy it?

Anyone willing to spare a code this non-member can use for the Tribe box (if codes still work)?

I could never bring myself to order direct from MMJ because of their pricing nonsense and (from what I’ve read) what seems like kinda bad customer service, although I do have a handful of releases I bought from Deep Discount and SH forums. They’re good 🤷‍♀️

How can those sleeves be that cheap? That’s $3.50 per 50 count whereas Mofi is $20 and even the gotta groove inners from plaid room are $15.

This is one of those albums where you could just listen to either piano, bass or drums for the whole album and block out everything else and it'd still be fascinating.

I think I may go for the Pho-8 at that price - I’ve never had a stand-alone preamp (I use the built-in from a Marantz pm5005 now). Just curious, which power cable did you upgrade to?

I know it’s been mentioned before, but next time you order from acoustic sounds, make sure to add this book for $7.99 - just flipped through it for the first time, it’s really great and a steal for that price...

I am not interested in the srx stuff, but I am thinking about buying a handful of 45s that are in stock for $35-$50. My hesitation is that I heard their follow up service is bad - if there’s a defect on a disc or two, will they replace them? Or will they fight me on replacements? Anyone have...

Catch Me! with Clare Fischer is good too. Such an impressive player.

I think this is a record from the vaults that is actually supposed to be kinda bad. I read something about how Michael Cuscuna said it would never be released, but now BN is releasing it anyway. I haven’t heard it though.

I don’t have an SACD player but the redbook layers still have the Hoffman/Gray mastering which is the draw for me. They had a bunch that were half off and then also a 10 cd bundle for $100 which is 2/3 off list price. And free shipping on the bundle too!

Unless MM licenses for stuff like Moanin are very long and exclusive, Blue Note is gonna be putting out versions of these in maybe 5-10 years, right? It’d be like printing money for them.

Oh man...I eventually got a copy of Gil Evans without the pops but the first few times I listened my brain still put them in. It’s a great record though!

When I add Hustlin to my cart it takes away the free shipping - anyone else experience that? It does the same for Indestructible and Una Mas.

Was it one of those Coltrane Prestige AP reissues? I’m waiting for them to repress some of that Prestige stuff.

Just bought a 45rpm MM of “Out to Lunch” on eBay. Came to about $55 with shipping and tax making it the most expensive record I ever bought. Feeling a little foolish right now even though I feel like it’s one of the more highly regarded MMs. Anybody have this one?

@MikeH i was at Hudson Valley vinyl yesterday too! I may have been there after you as I didn’t see any of those LPs in the bins when I was looking. Definitely would have grabbed the Shorter, nice pick. I agree it’s a great store, and great for jazz too. I got a bunch of OJCs and 70s...

    Remember that first time?

I bought my first record in 9th grade on a field trip to NYC. It was an Outakst 12" single for "She Lives In My Lap" from Tower Records. I didn't get a turntable until 7 years later, but I think I did actually play that record once.
