Y'know how you go to someone's house for the first time, and you secretly look around to see if they have a stereo system, and usually they don't? You are whose house I wish I walked into.

I still like it a lot - no changes from my initial impressions. It gets super hot. The top panel to the left of the tubes would bake anything you put on top of it.

    The Harbeth Thread

Can you remove the fill pretty easily, in case you don't like the effect? When I had my Harbeths I had Ton Traeger stands, which were solid wood, yet pretty light weight. Harbeth designs are meant to resonate, so I wonder if them being on an inert surface works with or against that design?

Ah, Armida, ok. Ever have Dovetail? Tried the JD triple mash at a bar this past weekend and I really liked it. The rye I Iike so much really came thru. At <$40 a bottle, it's a huge bang for buck option.

Based on my love of Barrell Seagrass (blend of cask strength Ryes finished in multiple barrel types), and I think @kvetcha saying it was good, I picked this up. Same concept as Seagrass, just bourbon and diff barrel types. This is nearly as good (Seagrass rules) in the same balanced fruity...

The non standard offerings from Jack Daniels have gotten a lot of really good reviews lately, including this. This is fantastic. It reminds me of High West Rendesvous Rye, back when they still sourced and blended. It's got classic rye spice, but also dill and other herbal notes. Its not just...

If you like that finish a lot, there's a TON of sherry finished whiskey out there to explore. One thing to look for are whether its first fill vs refill sherry casks or not. First fill will likely impart more of the sherry imbued flavors into the whiskey, whereas refill is more likely to be...

Happy birthday!! Single Barrel, you say? Normal offering is small batch, right? I need to get another bottle some time. Seagrass, which is wildly different as you know, has been the rye I reach for lately.

Port Charlotte Heavily Peated. Great stuff if you like Ardbeg, Laphroig or Lagavulin.

My first sippin' rum. Aged in ex-bourbon barrels, so it's not exactly a huge leap. Really impressed with this. Pronounced bonfire note, which I was not expecting, but definitely a positive. I'm going to explore more aged, barrelled rums in the future.

An annual release that Michter's puts out. Very reminiscent of Bookers, so I'm on board. Maybe I need to try more Michter's.

Russell's is always a great bang for buck sip. This one's up a rung from the $35 entry level stuff, as it's a single barrel and 110 proof, but still very affordable at ~$50. Was lucky to stumble across this in the wild, esp in MN.
