Ahhhh, I see what you mean now. That  is weird. Did they repackage any other component's casework similarly? That might indicate a change for aesthetics or faceplate availability reasons, as opposed to anything internal to that amp.

I have it on my SL-1200mk2. Been a few years since I put it on, but my recollection was that it tightened up the bass fairly noticeably.

For current pricing, absolutely. I think it's up against the 1200GR2 pricewise now, and I wanna say @HiFi Guy (?) said the MoFi was a step above the GR2. I think.

Yeah, its not a fair fight

I can say that it images wider and bass is a little deeper and more taut - basically more muscular. It's also way more heftily built. The MoFi tonearm feels so fragile compared to the 1200G's. I enjoy interacting with the G a lot more, in general.

The guy who sold me my G was using a Triplanar U12 on it, and said it was incredible. Sometime a few years in the future, I'd like to upgrade the arm, and I'd probably get an SME. Or maybe a used Kuzma 4Point. Either way, I love having the option.

I've not had any issues with my Ultradeck either, in the few years I've had it - however - based on all the issues I've seen in this thread, I wont be buying another MoFi deck again. It's colored my view of the MoFi gear overall, tbh. This extra sucks, given the Made in America factor...

I went this route. No clue how it really compares to anything else. It got a strong recommendation, specifically for 1200Gs, from Part-Time Audiophile, I think. I'll be swapping in my Achromat at some point to compare.
