End of the world music habits

I find it hard to listen to upbeat music. Doing more chill, relaxing, calm-your-ass-down music. One exception: Earl St. Clair's "Potluck"...just too, too good.

I'm also a sucker for autographed items, but I prefer the vinyl covers to be signed. A few years back I bought the presale lp for a new Van Morrison, signed. They sent me the lp unsigned, and the little booklet from inside a cd signed, but not on the cover. Looked like he just randomly...

Who has the signed edition? New West has a signed fold-out poster, which doesn't do much for me. But signed lp cover I'm down for. She signed my VMP cover of Loner at a festival last year. She's fantastic live.

    Magnolia Record Club

Can't wait. Saw him play at a festival last year and he was impressive. My grandaughter loves him, and after his set, he was gracious enough to come off the stage and take a few pictures with her. Just made us love him even more.

    The Blue Note Thread

My day was made this morning when I was notified the Black Pumas are stopping in Harrisburg in May. Grabbed tickets for the Mrs. and me. Central PA finally has a venue to bring in some great bands in Club XL. While on their site, snagged some for Low Cut Connie as well.

Vinyl Me Pauly (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Been reading the past 5 or so pages about the new drop by VMP, and I do remember the $17 price point. VMP, and the vinyl industry itself, are doing a wonderful job at driving many of us out. As the prices have gone up, I've actually purchased less and less vinyl. It's such a bad taste in my...

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

I think maybe I just need to immerse myself in them again. I was enthralled from the beginning, but my interest has started to drift.

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

Curious how many of you out there actually have all the Classic's releases. I do, but as time goes by, I find myself listening to them less and less. Mulling over walking away from it, but knowing I have the entire "set" thus far, it's hard to imagine not adding to the collection.

OMG...Desolation Angels is 40 years old?!? I remember buying a copy when I was in high school. I hadn’t thought about Rock and Roll Fantasy being that old. Shit! Bartender, I think I’ll have another. I need something to cry into.

Whoever mentioned the Bird Peterson holiday lp a few weeks back, thank you! Checked it out, loved it, bought it, and two weeks later, spinning it. Great change of pace record for holiday spinning.

    Fresh Grabs

Great record. I met her this past summer at a festival. Very sweet lady with a beautiful accent. Signed my VMP copy of her lp.

    Christian Music, Anyone?

I grew up listening to Christian rock in the 70's and 80's. Daniel Amos was one of my favorites, along with Jerusalem, Larry Norman, and Marty McCall and Fireworks. Alarma is one record that stuck with me all these years, and is still in my rotation.
