The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

My personal favorite has always been Mylo Xyloto but I can still get down with the first two and the use of Fix You premiering in the episode of The OC where Kirsten Cohen chooses alcohol over her family

Would you rather - R.E.M. vs Talking Heads edition

REM is probably my favorite band of all time, so I'd love to see them again one more time, but I'd also prefer they stay retired as they've said they would. As Peter Buck said in that CBS interview, it would never be as good as it was and they all seem happy and on good terms and that makes me...

The National - Cherry Tree Club

the turnaround between the two packages was also much shorter the past two years, it feels (fall and late spring) so I wonder if they got caught up in that turnaround with the bonus items and those are what were easiest to get on short notice.

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

their entire philosophy on Anthologies seems to be "we have X amount of dollars we can pay you, what will that get us?" and I say that as someone who's enjoyed all the cheap anthologies I've gotten through swaps

    Music Festivals

in it's previous location, the hardest part was getting there. in this new incarnation, getting there will probably suck more and no one really knows what the fest will actually be like. but previously, once you got in, it was fantastic. diverse programming across all stages, lots of carnival...

If you spent any time in a Moose Lodge in the 80s, Ronnie Milsap will resonate, but otherwise that is a real moment in time selection which I can't see them moving for years. weird choice. might as well tee up some Eddie Rabbitt or Crystal Gayle next quarter.

Vinyl Me, D: A Free Record Club - Year Two Official Thread - 36 Winners - Like The First Post, You're In For 2024 - 108 Free Records Given Away So Far

the bonus album from last month that I received, Scott H Biram's Fever Dreams, is excellent. As a longtime Chicagoan, I voraciously consumed everything that Bloodshot Records put out up until their very messy demise a few years back, so I was very familiar with Biram and have seen him a handful...

Vinyl Me Pauly (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

One of the warehouses I ran once had an entire section of electrical fuses they stopped making in the 60s. Warehouses are full of shit that no one has any idea what to do with and no one wants to get rid of without explicit orders to do so.

    Upcoming/Recent Shows

i've used these for going on 20 years now. they mostly just take the sound down and at this point, i don't notice much loss of clarity, but i also find concerts without them to be miserable. https://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Fidelity-Earplugs-ETY-Plugs-Standard/dp/B0044DEESS

Vinyl Me Pauly (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

my tinfoil hat take is that they're trying to consolidate the amount of warehouse space they pay for in order to cut costs there(because having a ton of funds tied up in warehouse space can be considerable). all the scratch and dent sales, sales, print on demands - these all lower the amount of...
