    Vinyl Me Please Essentials

That’s fair. Prices have definitely risen since then, too. I’m sure they’ve done some research and found that they need to target the wealthy audiophiles who like buying deluxe editions and/or comparing multiple pressings of their favorite albums. And that can be fun, too. But there’s not that...

    Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I’d love to see VMP get back to promoting more new artists, with the occasional reissue of something that has been OOP for years. Back in the day when I had less grey hair, I could count on getting super interesting releases from Moses Sumney Father John Misty War on Drugs Menomena And the...

Working in Nashville this week, I popped into the TMR store. Really fun! I picked up a 13” version of White Blood Cells, because why not.

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

I love that VMP is willing to press up a bunch of copies of underground music, market be damned. I have zero interest in cassette rips to vinyl—it’s like me making a Blu-ray of something I taped off of cable TV in the 90s—but the overall idea is admirable.

If someone was already a fan, turning an EP into LP-length with 3 extra songs is worth $28. Maybe if I stream it and it really hits me, I’d be down.

I got that email too—surprised to see Kurt is retiring but I liked how up front he was about what he’s looking for! I’m not wanting a retail business at all, but I think the location easily comprises a lot of that $ amount, and I imagine the brand is strong enough to be an asset in itself.

Well the Lloyd Center experiment was interesting! This new spot is closer to a neighborhood home base for them and Beacon. Andrew of Beacon Sound is one of the bright lights of Portland’s underground music scene, and I’m always pulling for him.

Was just thinking about this. The Nils Frahm Ivory Sour is a favorite around my house. So is the Father John Misty distilled water recipe.

I really liked the Another Diamond Day one, and the Bandwagonesque one.

Vinyl Me, D - A Free Record Club

Just read through all 22 pages of this thread. What a journey! Many picks that I had never heard before, and some pleasant surprises with albums that I had discounted (for whatever reason) that I wound up enjoying. Generosity is contagious.

The way they’re talking about the BN 313 series—“as close as possible to the magic of the originals”—sounded like quite the hedge to me.

Glad I asked about them! The yellow covers are kind of a turn off personally, and I wasn’t sure how the Third Man pressings compared. Verve seems to be allowing anyone and everyone a shot at pressing some of these albums. I bought the recent Exploding Hearts yellow and pink splatter vinyl...

Has anyone listened to the TMRxImpulse yellow releases that I see in the Vault Store? I usually check on Fridays and a new one has been released. Wish they would send a stock update email when new releases hit the Vault store!
