I thought there were people sending these back too?

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

I just compared the outer on the VMP Montara to the 1975 version and everything looks the same minus the Blue Note barcode and the original colors look to have been different.

The answer you're looking for is too much. We spent too much. VMP shitted on us hard I'm debating leaving VMP for good.

Yup, you could do this exact same printing on Lulu for cheap. Regular cardstock.

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

12 pages. Saddle stapled. Sloppy writing. This is a damn joke. As much as we paid for this, they couldn't have actually done a hardbound pressing? I've gotten hardbackbooks from Numero for $60 sets.

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

The booklet is pretty shitty. I've caught about 10 typos in it so far. I don't know anything about the picture history so I won't comment on that. But compared to some of the other books I have from high end box sets (anything Numero/the Bowie boxes) it's definitely a mediocre/sub mediocre...

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Eh, t's been a fine presentation. Things I love: (1) repressing that do not get the main color of the album's front color correct (this is a perfect addition to your record collection, if you're color blind) (2) repressings of "high end" jazz releases that borrow the back cover from CD...

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

My booklet is coming in an hour or so. I'm expecting it to be just a big stack of papers that are stapled together.

Oh come on, it's not that bad. They totally got 1 of the 6 right.

Just noticed my label for Ambrose Akimusire is actually for Hutcherson.

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

I just got Hutcherson and Akinmusire. The race is on to figure out how they goofed up these ones!

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

I had the impression that VMP was gung ho about the next anthology, but the way it was described in the last Blue Note podcast left me thinking maybe that's not a certainty. Do we think they're continuing it? My last two records are coming on Tuesday, notes on Wednesday. I'm kind of blah about...

It was purely a numbers game that if Molly Ringwald kept saying enough silly/stupid things that eventually she'd say something that was right.

I snagged it. I thank you and more importantly, the Mrs thanks you. I'm not a Hamilton convert (yet) so picking it up for 45 with a $10 gift certificated because Amazon delivered to the wrong house earlier this week is the way to go.

I'm trying to think about what I got from Amazon recently.... I got the Tom Petty complete studio albums box recently from Amazon and that was packaged really well. I think the last single LP I ordered from them was the most recent Josh Ritter and that came in something to VMP packaging

Sell them to your local record store. When does Amazon do this? As long as I've ordered from them, I've gotten LPs in nearly the same packaging that VMP stuff comes in.

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

While VMP didn't say how many people got screwed up copies, I'd imagine that this in combination with the Dexte reprint might lead to them going in the hole on the anthology.

Enoch is one of those record dudes who thinks everyone else is dumb and talks down to everybody. So, take whatever he tells you with a grain of salt. I agree with you. This isn't common. Not for something like this.
