thanks for the inputs...what was timing like? any damage from warping, etc?

hey team...may be moving a some of my collection (300-400 records) across the pacific and wanted advice/anecdotes/etc if anyone had done this in the past. the last time I moved any records I fedexed about 150 records from Singapore to the US in 3 boxes that I double boxed...but was pretty exy....

anyone pick up the new Metheny BSL reissue?? interested in thoughts...I have a noisy US (that looks clean) and a JP 2nd press that I think is actually pretty good....but discogs looks really varied - anyone with experience with this record have a say...its one of my favorites

Japanese companies, Japanese thinking, everything is complicated here...but they missed a moment to really cement TBM as a 'blue note' equivalent and create more 'fans' just like BN has done with tone poets...

sony has been very active with represses here, so I would imagine if these sell out they will repress...but jazz is a fickle beast and timing is everything...I wish I worked in their marketing department, they have no idea how to create demand, only respond to it....

Discogs is just my cataloging system and very rarely purchase anything, but it would be so easy for them to add more context to each sale so that the pricing data would be that much richer (maybe they provide this to big sellers so they can match the dynamics) - it would take a few key strokes...

exactly this...my collection is 55-60% Japanese pressings bought in Japan so I have lots of rarer stuff that doesn't show so much variation between low and high, and focused on jazz and soul/r&b where anything that isn't like private press super rare has a more steady appreciation - but if...

yeah, high discogs is full retail on best conditions, so even if your collection was equal on condition, you're never getting retail unless your selling individually...but if really equal on condition thought maybe median was possible, especially if rare stuff, not just high prices on everyday...

yeah definitely rare...I really hope they go back to tip-on sleeves as the last couple were direct prints, would have been nice to see these with replica obi instead of the pink project re:vinyl as I think they generally look better, but Ogawa-san does a really good job on sound considering...

this is a big deal...never seen in the wild here....also Sony Japan is starting a reissue campaign for many of the titles in the project re:vinyl series so Im sure they will get wider distribution...

lets talk Muse....I wish I knew more about this label, ive picked up a few or three dozen titles over the last many years collecting and they are generally great sessions and almost always great sounding on vinyl...besides that you can kinda always tell a muse label record by the "almost right"...

picked up a bit of a grail today, TBM-31, Takashi Mizuhashi - Who Cares - at an expensive but seemingly reasonable price of 12K yen, no obi sleeve strong VG++, vinyl NM- and with a spin thru the 'guru its definitely silent...and while ive been trying not to buy records (Highly unsuccessfully)...
