The Idiot's Guide to Pressing Plants, Engineers, etc.

exactly - and is that proven track record due to source material? since we do not know the correlation is spurious - but since this is basically a consumer guide its understandable...

The Idiot's Guide to Pressing Plants, Engineers, etc.

this is interesting, semi-useful but spurious, regarding engineers at least - nothing spoken of with regard to master tapes, wherein we have no idea what the sound is like on the tape - they could just be doing the best they could with what they had, and that's no reason to stack rank. I get...

    Incoming! The New Equipment Thread

this is a real thing...im not an expert but you might want to look at step down transformers or at a minimum try and test for speed, not using the strobe and see if the unit gets warm - while the variation in voltage is small, technics is very communicative here about units being not made for...

this must be a Japanese model - I just ignore it here as there are only 2 prong outlets here and we have to use cheaters for anything 3 prong - but if it is Japanese then its 100v (trust me I live in Tokyo) - you may want to check the back of your unit

this had been on my radar for awhile but cost and seemingly sold out...however I just picked this up sealed, but in the used bin at Disk Union for half the cost (no idea why it was on discount) and can say this is really incredible - the format seems strange from the normal square format (to...

    J-Jazz (Japanese Jazz)

he's one of my favorites for sure, I like these records more than the Ryo Fukui sessions (Horror!!!) and all his 80s sessions are more easily available and reasonable and quite good (SQ for sure) - piranha has become very hard to find and pricey for sure...
