I screwed up looking at an expiring add-on track last month and messed up and swapped away Lee Morgan. I really wanted it! It shows up in the store, but I can't actually try and buy it, it just says 'YOU SWAPPED THIS RECORD' where it would be add to cart button. hrm
Been putting the brakes on the purchases for various reasons (saving for a car, possible union strike) but sudden decided I NEEDED a $50 record from South Korea yesterday. Oh well!
One day I'll figure out a spot to put my 'now playing'.
Captain Beefheart - Doc at the Radar Station
This album is so damn good. Eternally before it's time.
Am I having the WORST run of USPS luck, or is it hell everywhere? Order from Plaid Room came to nearby LA distro center, and then went back out and is now in PITTSBURGH ?!?
I'm in scripted TV so anything live scares the bajeezus out of me! I need my PROCESS ha. Time. Dark room alone. Multiple levels of UNDO. Much respect for your end of things.
Two ruined record deliveries in a row. Time to only order from Acoustic Sounds for that premium packaging?? Need Delta to ease up so I feel safer frequenting my locals more often.
The code hates me. I like the code, why won't the code like me? They must know I do hate Amazon and their union busting practices.. yet still succumb to their deals. They taunt me.
Great to hear, Excited for this! I ordered it from Plaid Room yesterday so it should be here soon enough. Also picked up the new Brandee Younger record which is a cool ride from the bits I checked out on Spotify.
Yeah. I'll contact them but don't have high hopes for replacement. It seems to be sold out everywhere online at this point (and going for crazy prices on Dicogs). Assume it'll be refund at best. Hoping this gets a repress down the line.
Oh yes, I absolutely know the album. It funny, I have a decent amount of jazz records at this point, but neither A Love Supreme or Kind of Blue, which feel like two of the 'essential' albums one would buy.
This is wild! Very excited about this, just came across the NPR story elsewhere. I don't actually own a copy of ALS on vinyl (sacrilege I know). is a Live version going to be my first? is that allowed?? :)
Question - how is the pressing quality of the James Booker 'Paramount Tapes' release from few years ago? Anyone got feedback? Might grab it in swaps this month.
