    Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I was 1 month deep into a 6 month subscription renewal when they dropped the hammer on the forum. I'm getting my moneys worth one way or another.

    Vinyl Me Please Essentials

Have any brave souls wandered into reddit to see if there are any clues for the next Essentials pick?

Do you get access to all the extras, or is it just the features? Thanks for the information.

The running time has always been a big mental hurdle on this one (and a few others by Bergman). Since buying CC's is one of two consumer vices I have (the other should be self explanatory based on the forum I'm posting this), I've been hesitant to pull the trigger on their streaming service. Can...

    How do you Organize!

Depends on the year. One year it's basic alphabetical order, and eventually I'll get sick of that and reorganize it by genre. While I kind of prefer sorting by genre since I'm terrible with names and tend to stick with one genre for weeks at a time, I hate the act of deciding what genre to put...

    Vinyl Me Please Essentials

Jesus there's an album I haven't thought of for a decade. Side note - good on Jason Schwartzman's career for outlasting the "hey it's the drummer from Phantom Planet!) stage.

    The Top 10's

I think I have Wes Anderson fatigue, because (surprisingly) Isle of Dogs really did nothing for me. Paddington 2 and Minding the Gap probably would have been in my 11-20. Also just saw Burning and it might end up in my top 10.

    The Top 10's

I thought Blockers was a really underrated comedy. That and Game Night.

Mostly agree, although for me AM had this beat in the skippable generic indie department.

    Pre-Order Thread

I have never liked this venue, and I'm being dragged there next month to see - brace yourself - Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World (Ra Ra Riot is also playing, and I'll try to stay awake for that set). Last show I saw there was Interpol with Liars as the opening act, and outside of the shock of...

    Rank The Albums!

The National: Boxer Alligator High Violet I Am Easy to Find Trouble Will Find Me Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers Sleep Well Beasts The National Also for what it's worth, I'd rank A Skin, A Night + The Virginia EP's above Sleep Well Beasts. Have always loved Blank Slate from that record.

    Vinyl Me Please Essentials

This is the thing that bothers me the most. I was all-in on this months pick, thinking it would be a "blockbuster" worthy selection from that era. WAP is a solid album, and I still remember that "HOLY SHIT!" moment the first time I heard 1901, but it hasn't aged that great, and it's been...

I partially agree with you, as those wheat field shots are something to behold. Nothing beats the treehouse sequence in Badlands though. So you'd rank A Thin Red Line and The New World above The Tree of Life?

I've found that late era Malick is something I really have to be in the right mindset for. It's not something I can just throw on and hope for the best (which I did with Song to Song, and if it weren't for the CBD drops I doubt I could have kept my focus). For my money it's really tough to top...

    Seattle / Tacoma / Washington

I've been meaning to check that venue out. Almost went to the Wolf Parade show there, but ended up seeing them in Bellingham instead.

    Seattle / Tacoma / Washington

I haven't lived in the City for over a decade now, so I'm not exactly an authority on where to live, but SWT is right... it's pricey everywhere. If I had to move back, I'd look in the more affordable "up-and-coming" areas like Georgetown or Beacon Hill. Great art and food scene in both areas...
