Got to listen to my 71 RVG copy and the new Classic "Speak No Evil" back to back. The classic series definitely sounds good, well worth the 22 buck, but I would say it is not up to snuff against the RVG. To my ear there is a lack of punch in both the lows and highs, as if the whole soundscape...

Just placed an order for "speak no evil" that I will pick up from a local tomorrow. I have a Van Gelder stamped Liberty pressing of it already but since it is one of my most listened to jazz records I figured it would be the perfect title to do a comparison on so I can see about picking up more...

I am not sure if it is streaming anywhere. I got my copy from Dusty Groove. I think Forced Exposure has copies as well. The band is amazing. Jeff Parker on guitar, Ari Brown on sax, Abrams on bass and Gerald Cleaver on drums.

This is my favorite record out of the whole UK jazz explosion by a long shot. It is so damn good! Dusty Groove usually gets copies of their stuff if you're looking to avoid the shipping cost, but not sure if that'll still happen with this pressing and how whacky overseas shipping has been lately.

Agreed here! Besides there are plenty of great reissues done of needle drops. Some of the Sun Ra stuff that has been reissued officially have been taken from clean OG vinyl pressings and one of my favorite reissues in recent memory, Khan Jamal's Drum Dance to the Motherland was as well. I...
