For my money, the first album, Laser Guided Melodies is up there with their best. Every album is decent, & there are highlights throughout their catalogue. Check out the title track from Sweet Heart/Sweet Light: a truly epic Spiritualized moment.

I think it sounds amazing; especially considering he recorded it almost completely on his own at home.

I think it’s excellent. I wouldn’t say he really breaks any new ground but he does all the things you expect from Spiritualized & he does them very well. Perfect Miracle is a beautiful little melody, I’m Your Man is a soulful ballad with great horns, whilst On The Sunshine & The Morning After...

Yes, I’ve noticed on here & the old VMP forum that this guy really loves the sound of his own voice. He just goes on & on.

I’d be very happy if they did a Fela Anthology; surely there’s enough Great material that isn’t readily available.

I don’t touch the record sleeve, I just reach inside both the secrecy sleeve & the cover & pull out the inner sleeve & record. :-)

Perhaps they don’t need plastic sleeves since they’re protected by the secrecy sleeves & also contained in a box. That’s how I’m leaving mine, anyway. :-)

I’ve kept my records inside their secrecy sleeves but cut the flaps off so that they fit in the box better. :/)

I wholeheartedly agree that this whole Anthology experience has been excellent. Yesterday, I played the first 6 records again, in order, & they all sounded fantastic. Really looking forward to next Fridays final unboxing & podcast & finally seeing what the last two records are.

My box had a small split on one of the top corners & black was showing through. My replacement box is on its way.

I believe Bell is the final record of the 8, so it will be part of episode 4.

It seems like Jersey City is the Bermuda Triangle of the U.S postal service. I feel for you unlucky people. My Anthology took 5 days to reach me in England. For what it’s worth: it’s definitely worth the wait! :-)

I’m currently reading Respect Yourself & really enjoying it. Don’t worry, Zavaroni isn’t in the box.

Apparently, the first 4 albums are mono & the next 4 are stereo.

It doesn’t state whether it’s mono or stereo. I’ve only opened the secrecy sleeves on the first two records so far, as I intend to open two each week alongside the relevant podcasts.
