The most warped NEW record I've ever gotten. I managed to flatten it with my Vinyl Flat, but there is damage to the audio from the warp.

MoFi UltraDeck / StudioDeck Owners and those interested

I have not had luck dealing with MoFi. I apparently bought this player when there were in the middle of a warehouse move so they have not been proactive or overly responsive. I'm OK with the situation though. In general, I am very happy with my StudioDeck with MasterTracker, but acknowledge...

Cables - one of the most taboo subjects in audio

Got a new NAD C538 cd player and used my Signal Cable Analog Two cables and it sounds great. I went ahead and put in another order at Signal to replace the connection I stole that cable from. What a great cable and deal!

Does anyone have experience lubricating the arm lift mechanism? When I lift the arm up, I hear a small click from the lift arm piston. I think this needs a bit of lubrication. Any thoughts on what should be used?

Cables - one of the most taboo subjects in audio

My Signal Analog Twos arrived today and I got the system all wired up. I know that I'm as susceptible to confirmation bias as anyone, but they sound great. The first thing I noticed is that the bass was booming after connecting them. I had to re-EQ the system because that bass was coming through...

Cables - one of the most taboo subjects in audio

Appreciate it. It didn't get the fancy plugs. I'm a little dubious about spending $165 on interconnects as it is, but recognize the need to at least get a quality cable.

Cables - one of the most taboo subjects in audio

I'm interested. My setup is MoFi StudioDeck+M --> DJ PreII pre-amp --> Bellari EQ 570 --> Yamaha AS501. For the three interconnects, I'm using 2x Amazon Basics RCAs and an old Monster Cable RCA. Definitely not an ideal setup so I'm considering upgrading. Did you get the Standard RCA plugs...

I recently got mine, and have gained a good deal of experience with it. I'm in Illinois / Chicagoland.

Thanks for the tips, I fixed it. There were a two adjustments I made: The entire tone arm housing was loose, so I tightened the screw on the underside of the deck. It was considerably loose. After popping the stylus guard on (thanks kvetcha), I loosened the VTA screw and the whole arm dropped...

I'm fully anticipating needing to reset my VTA, but have never done it before. Any tips from the group?

That's great, thank you for the legwork @kvetcha. I'll tweak it this evening!

That is probably true. I assume I can loosen the screw on the bottom and rotate?

It actually raises the level just fine, but when the arm goes all the way to the spindle, it is physically past the end of the arm, so raising it does nothing.

Not to be pedantic, but rotation on the table is the only way ever notice a warp. Are there other ways?

So, now that I have the Vinyl Flat, I'm seeing warps everywhere. The new Foxing record arrived with a slip edge warp and I'm wondering if it's worth adjusting. It's pretty slight, so I don't think it's really adding much wear to the stylus. I'm curious how often other owners use the Vinyl Flat.

Thanks kvetcha. Is there any known way to raise the height of the actual lever?

Decided to keep my table, the motor hum is completely livable since I do not hear it unless my head is near the table. MoFi directed me to make a few minor adjustments and the rubber band is now riding in its groove. I may also want to tweak the tone arm as it rides pretty low, but kind of...

My high setting only goes to about 130 degrees and 60 minutes has been working well. One of my 180G clear records actually took 75 minutes was came out very well after that second, longer bake.
