That's a good price for MRC. My complaints with MRC were around curation, lack of exclusivity (they will repress for non-club members for hot titles), their crappy online portal, and value. This at least addresses value really well and the swaptions apparently improved. $17 a record or so makes...

Kinda spaced I didn’t put the pitch in here. I think after a full play through, my only complaint would be the drums are a little much, but given it was a 70s live recording not necessarily meant for distribution it’s pretty stellar. Clear audio and spacing, crowd adds a ton, Ben and Tete go on...

I’ve seen several record stores, including two well regarded local ones, price records at flipper levels on Discogs. And I don’t even mean the high MSRP plus 20% ( which to your point has been a lot more common too) but more like 2x+.

Agreed. That print run for an artist like Shires would’ve been around for sales six months from now in other years. It’s a great EP so good for her and the people listening to it, but a surprise for sure.

Was it always this way or is this year particularly bad with Discogs scam sellers? Feels like every 5th RSD item is an obvious scam or likely scam

The lines I saw suggest this is exactly right. The experience suggests this was a tide that lifted all ships.

Never doubting the Swifties again. To move that many records, even assuming flippers were involved, of an alternate version of an album is just absurd.
