All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Just came across this track: One of them is literally wearing a King Gizz shirt, so the influence is very obvious, but I like the track so much I was wondering if you guys know any more bands that are influenced by King Gizz? Its been 10 years so they'll probably start popping up all over the...

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

"It is with great sadness that I announce my time with King Gizz has come to an end. I will keep working with Gizz putting out records but I will no longer be an active member or manager of the group. To anyone that caught a show and dived into our world over the last 10 years I just want to say...

I think HOOM has the most accessible sound, its just the fact that it goes for two hours that makes it most daunting for newcomers to commit to a focused listen. It may help if you split it into its parts and take it in as three separate albums to begin with. Disc 1 ends on Baby Birch, and Disc...

The Pro-Ject Pergola - Questions, Answers, Advice & Chat

If it wasn't a piece of band merch I'd love a TT that out there, it looks like they still put the effort into it.

The 33 1/3 thread.... (the book series)

Does anyone happen to know if the Twin Peaks soundtrack book spoils the show? Is it the kind of show that is even 'spoilable'? @wokeupnew perhaps? Maybe it was a bit dumb to want to read this without ever having seen the show, but now I'm interested in seeing it and not sure how to proceed.

The 33 1/3 thread.... (the book series)

Struggling to get through the one on Tusk. The author does clarify in the beginning that they had already committed to the book with a promise of an extensive interview from Lindsey Buckingham, but he just never made himself available for it, so the concept of the book fell through too late in...

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Found this tonight: This 'jam band' thing is really sinking in. You can tell how much they've missed two years of live shows and I think Omnium Gatherum really represents this in that they've obviously been revisiting the entire catalogue and practising pretty much all of it for the shows, so...

The Pro-Ject Pergola - Questions, Answers, Advice & Chat

Thank you! This worked nicely. Strange design on that gimbal bearing, you wouldn't know there was a thread there to adjust. Very weird head too, I had to grind a custom tool to turn it. But I got there, tracking issue solved.

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Really enjoyed my first listen, as usual. Actually seem like a good introductory album, like a showcase of everything they're known for and capable of.

The Pro-Ject Pergola - Questions, Answers, Advice & Chat

My Debut Carbon was having tracking issues, so I went to reset the counterweight just as a starting measure and noticed the tonearm bearings are stiff. Anyone had experience dealing with this? I've googled it and it doesn't seem like a common issue. Stiff as in when trying to set the...

Been keeping an eye out for bargains and building my collection. Only finished MBDTF (Which was good!) and started Bitches Brew which is amazing so far. Anything to know about the others?

The Latest News from Neptune - a Sun Ra thread

Dipped my toes into the Sun Ra discography a couple of times (The Night of the Purple Moon, Atlantis) and never got that into it. But I just listened to the Lanquidity reissue and really enjoyed it. Can anyone point me in the right direction to more of his work that I might enjoy?

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

From their latest IG post. Looks like a 2LP Mind Fuzz edition coming. Speculation: lenticular cover and instrumentals like PMDB? If they keep going down this path I might have to become a vinyl DJ to justify my collection haha.

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I think its just a bit exuberant for me. It has a bit of that 80's Emcee style that feels a bit like an overcompensation of confidence. Maybe if it had a bit of a cooler Mike Skinner spoken word tone it wouldn't jump out of the music so much for me.

I agree Ambrose's rapping really takes you out of it, but I am loving Made In Timeland. It no longer seems to get taken off Youtube so it should be pretty accessible now. Really trippy token blend of many different electronic music styles.
