Holy shit! Did I miss anything?

My final Barnes and Noble haul. Wild Strawberries and The Tree of Life are the only holdovers from the flash sale last fall.

I get maybe 1-2 records from VMP a month now. Used to be wayyyyy more. I’m starting to put my money into buffing up my Criterion Blu-Ray collection. Which supplies a way better product for about $20-$30 a pop if I buy during sales. No brainer.

Jeff Tweedy is playing my hometown drive in lol and I got tickets. Insanity.

Yorgos Lanthimos is a true auteur though. I’ll watch anything he puts out.

The Favourite is definitely his most accessible (and imo BEST) film. I loved it. The Lobster is difficult and I think his stunted dialogue works far better in a film like Dogtooth which I would slot right behind The Favourite. I havent seen Alps or Kinetta. Killing of a Sacred Deer is so dark...

I would argue that each child represents a different test subject with various outcomes. The oldest daughter begins to questions the nature of her surroundings, and as the movie unfolds the cracks in these “institutions” begin to show and slowly unravel.

Love the themes explored about institutions that are meant to protect us or pretend to protect us but instead betray that social contract or inherent trust. All within the confines of a family that lives under “quarantine”. It’s the most essential film I can think of at the moment, one that...

Oh dear. Maybe the movie that has aged better than any over the last 6 months. Incredible movie!

Even some of the big name Country acts like Townes and Loretta have really struggled to sell. Pretty confounding that their sales data led them to think this was the way to go. I guess we’ll see if it comes to fruition. There hasn’t been anything official correct?

I love country. But this seems like the exact wrong kind of track VMP should be putting out right now.

I thought about the Before Trilogy because I adore it, just haven’t jumped because I own them all on standard dvd. Though I eventually want that great looking box. High and Low was also one I considered.
