    Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I think in a perfect world we'd get an equal number of jazz/blues/soul in the Classics track but apparently the jazz reissues they do sell so much better than the other genres that they put out 75% jazz. I think an eventual jazz track is probably inevitable.

This one seems to have polarizing reviews to say the least lol.

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

I don't think the vocals are loud enough in the mix to be harsh/bright which is why it's such a crankkable record. It's a warm recording with a nice bright mastering IMO I'm not getting the harshness, and I have pretty bright Klipsch speakers.

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

I strongly disagree. This thing is super crankable and the instruments really shine in the mastering. It's bright but not harsh and idk where you think it sounds compressed. Compared to what? the Streaming, the original pressing? I'm not hearing that. The only possible turnoff I can see is that...

The OG isn’t that expensive I don’t think. I found one for $40sh last year. The Sundazed Kevin Gray is almost as good

They only said "remastered from the original analog tapes" on this one: MzAtNjgyNS5qcGVn.jpeg usually they're explicit about ALL ANALOG in all caps, like here: MjEtODgwMy5qcGVn.jpeg

Been spinning Craft's Burnin' and Art Pepper Meets the RS nonstop all week. They sound so great, Burnin' really kicks ass. Apparently someone on SHF emailed Kevin Gray and the Burnin' is indeed AAA. Not surprised, it sounds it.

    Restocks/Represses

Round About Midnight had a very small restock in January I think, but doesn't look like it was a full blown repress like we've been getting with Bitches Brew, IASW, Jack Johnson, etc

Well Honky Chateau turned 50 in 2022 but we’re not getting the 50th reissue until midway through 2023, so I’m thinking a GYBR reissue probably comes out next year unless they were just behind schedule with the last one

These are both pretty great. I'd give the edge to the Kevin Gray Sundazed though. It's a hotter cut, more aggressive sounding. Bernie's is more relaxed but more detailed and clear, not quite as much bottom end, but plenty bright. Guitar and snare sound really great on Bernie's. Probably just a...

The Rhino 60th Green Onions comes in a nice glossy tip-on jacket. Sounds really great so far, I'll spin my Sundazed Kevin Gray next to see how it compares.
