Ok . Are you walking across rugs to get to the TT as they create a lot of static in winter . Are you experiencing static around the house as you touch things . I also use a anti static brush on the records as Kvetcha mentioned and that works .

I only wish Lee . Name came from the fact that in winter I was getting lots of static shocks from the new TT until I started to use a small humidifier and grounded myself . This winter , no real cold spell here in Southern Ontario so no real low humidity and no real shocks .

One point of clarification , does the noise only come when you are in direct contact with the arm/table ?

Good news now enjoy the music . I would suggest that you go back to the default setting if that sounds better to your ears . Its all about how you enjoy the music .

Had the same problem with lug not fitting ie too small so took round file and enlarged in order to fit . Agree that hard to get good ground with lugs as they always appear to loosen in time ---my experience anyhow .

Stepping back abit , the system worked fine before you added the TT in? Were any other components or connectors added at the same time ? Try to isolate events to determine when the hum began . Could it be an issue with the TT itself? Is the system connected to just one outlet or more and did...

I also only have a ground between my TT and my CJ preamp which has a phono stage and no other grounds . I suggest you follow the suggestions of Joe Mac and Kvetcha and start with only one ground from the TT trying the options suggested . I know in my CJ it has a hole in a post for the ground and...

Just to be clear, the hum occurs when all the equipment is hocked up and on , but not playing ? Have you rechecked all your connections to ensure they are all tight. Like Joe Mac has asked , details regarding your TT grounding or any other grounding in place would be helpful at this point.
